Terapagos is a mysterious Legendary Pokémon that you’ll encounter in the Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Prior to the release of the second expansion, this new monster was at the center of fan theories for quite some time, as it seems to have the ability to change forms. We now know that this Pokémon has the power to alter its appearance, though it’s similar to the Teal Mask’s Ogerpon in that it doesn’t evolve, per se. Here’s how to get Terapagos and change its form in the Indigo Disk DLC.

In order to catch Terapagos, you’ll just need to progress through the main story of the Indigo Disk DLC. After you defeat Kieran and become the BB League Champion, you’ll explore the underdepths of Area Zero back in Paldea. There, Kieran will catch Terapagos in a Master Ball, though the Legendary Pokémon manages to break free thanks to its overwhelming Terastal energy. To subdue it, you’ll need to defeat it in battle.

This works much like a tough Tera Raid Battle, resulting in a guaranteed catch if you can manage to break through the powerful Pokémon’s Terastal shields. That said, it utilizes the new Stellar Tera Type, allowing it to change its type each time you break through a shield. Because of this, you’ll need to skillfully employ each of your Pokémon to successfully obtain Terapagos. Fortunately, your catch is secured once the Pokémon’s health is depleted.

When you first encounter Terapagos in the underdepths of Area Zero in the Indigo Disk DLC, you learn that it can change its form and become more powerful when it Terastallizes. As such, it can’t exactly evolve. However, it can achieve a stellar new look when you Terastallize it during battle. Not to mention, this will lend it the power of the Stellar Tera Type, allowing you to temporarily change its type.
