“Too Good to Be True” Players Are Skeptical That GTA 6 Will Look Like the Trailer

We all saw the life-like new trailer for GTA 6, and basically everyone was speechless; now, when the initial hype died down, the players are a bit skeptical that the game will look like the trailer.

The most anticipated game ever, GTA 6, just got a new trailer, which caught everyone by surprise. The recent announcement that the release will be delayed until 2026 demoralized the loyal fans, so they were pretty excited when Rockstar surprised us all with “Grand Theft Auto IV Trailer 2”. The trailer itself looks more like a movie than a game, which prompted some skeptics to doubt that the game will look just like the trailer, saying it is way too much.

Players Are Skeptical That GTA 6 Will Look Just Like the Trailer

It is no secret that the technology has improved immensely in recent years, but has it improved enough to make video games look almost real? Some folks are a bit doubtful.

In the trailer, we see the protagonists, Jason and Lucia, going about their (shady) business, more characters, and scenes from Vice City itself. All of that looks like it was filmed using live actors, looking, well, too good for a video game. You get comments from fans like “no chance that is gameplay” and “its not gonna look like that at launch”.

However, some do provide a bit more context, like ReaperWorlds, stating this looks way better than the rumored 30FPS the game will run on. “I’d doubt that, looks like cgi sequences, im positive that they’ll show gameplay extensively before launch to drive up sales. I’d still like to hear official Frame Rates, still hearing 30fps, which would not be nearly as smooth as this looks. Graphic/art team looks top notch!”

Lastly, some are even more pessimistic, like one player saying: ”No way it’s actually gonna look like this on console tho, I bet it’s gonna look super fuzzy with like a 1080p upscale to 4K, with dithered shadows and stuff. I bet this is like the future PC build using settings that aren’t even going to be available when that releases”.

But others point to the fact that the trailer says “Captured on PS5” in the last few seconds.

While it is a fact that the trailer looks too good to be true, Rockstar is known for delivering lifelike graphics. If you remember, that delay was responsible for Red Dead Redemption 2 looking almost real, compared to the initial shots. So, we are pretty optimistic!
