Without sugarcoating it, the new PlayStation 5 Pro console is really overpriced. The improvements do not justify the steep price of around $700, without the disc. Players everywhere expressed their outrage with this, as no one expected a price to be this high. The Sony team said that this console is bringing some performance improvements, and they have shown side-by-side comparison videos for games like Ratchet and Clank, The First Descendant, and The Last of Us. To be honest, there are some obvious improvements, but are they enough?
Why Should You Get PlayStation 5 Pro?
Well, rarely does anyone have $700 just lying around. Spending that much money on a console is a big investment, especially if you already have a PS5. So, why should you do it? Are FPS improvements worth that much?
You can argue that they are. You cannot expect that PS5 Pro would have some revolutionary improvements in today’s times. But, if you are someone who is primarily a PS console gamer, someone who plays PlayStation games basically every day, and really does enjoy the visuals and the whole experience, this upgrade may actually be justified. Improving something that you use daily is not a bad investment. The hours and hours that you would spend using PS5 Pro will pay themselves in the long run. The experience of having some mates over for some couch co-op fun is priceless, and if this console will improve that, then spending $700 on a PS5 Pro is not that insane.
Seven Hundred Dollars is Too Much To Pay At Once
There is no beating around the bush, to spend that much money at once is not for everyone. You can safely say that PS5 Pro is a luxury product. But, since we only recently got the official announcement for the latest version of PlayStation, ie PS5 Pro, it will be some time before we get PlayStation 6. It is speculated that it will be released in November 2027. That is exactly three years after the PS5 Pro release. You can look at it like you’re paying around $250 per year for PS5 Pro, or $20 per month. Not that pricey, if you plan on using it as often as possible. With all the great games available on PS, especially the new Asto Bot, this may actually be a good investment in the long run. If you would love to finally have a combination of Performance and Fidelity modes, then this is a console for you.
