Kojima proves time and time again that he wants his games to be as user-friendly as possible. It was recently revealed that he added a very handy feature to Death Stranding 2 – checking the length of cutscenes with a single push of a button.
The long-awaited release of Death Stranding 2 is getting closer and closer. Scheduled for June 26, it is barely longer than two more weeks (on the day of writing), and the fans are getting more excited each day. Furthermore, we get more and more small reveals and details about the game, like the recently leaked file size needed to install it. And now, another small but extremely useful detail caught the community’s attention.
Death Stranding 2 Will Have a Handy Feature for Checking the Length of Cutscenes
It was revealed in Death Stranding 2 previews that you can check the length of a cutscene by pressing the Start button. While it doesn’t sound like much, this feature is getting all the praise from the fans.
“Brilliant move. Very user friendly for anyone who has said “almost done” only to be made a liar.” said tassag_jaydox on Reddit, and “This is actually really useful. If I need to get up, make some popcorn, and have a quick [toilet break] I’ll know.” added Ghostbuster_11Nein.
It was even revealed that DS2 will have the option to pause the cutscenes. “There is also a ‘corpus’ system that will keep track of the story thus far and will also allow players to pause the game during cutscenes for any technical terms. If a player saw [a] technical term they don’t understand then they can pause the game mid-cutscene and look it up/see its meaning.” said Himmel_Demon_Slayer.
It is awesome when the game respects your time, so hats off to Kojima for implementing these features. And learning something new is just an added bonus!
