God of War Ragnarök is the ninth installment of the God of War series, published in 2022. It follows the adventures of Kratos and his son Atreus and is the second (and last) game in the series that is set in the world of Norse mythology. One of the best-rated games of the series, GoW Ragnarok scored 94/100 on Metacritic and has earned a lot of rewards, like Most Wanted Game 2020, and Best Narrative and Best Action/Adventure on The Game Awards 2022. It is still actively played today.
On September 10, Sony announced a new console titled PS5 Pro. It is an upgrade to the regular PS5 offering better performance and visuals. While the majority of fans were shocked by the steep price tag, no one can deny that games look and perform way better on PS5 Pro. However, not every game will be supported by PS5 Pro as every game has to be tweaked and further updated by the developers, and games that have received that treatment will get the coveted “PS5 Pro Enhanced” tag.
God of War Ragnarök is Perfect for PlayStation 5 Pro
A game as awesome as GoW Ragnarok truly deserves to be updated for PS5 Pro and Santa Monica Studio delivered. If you go to the PS Store and look for God of War Ragnarök, you will see that the “PS5 Pro Enhanced” tag is now officially among its specifications.
As with all other PS5 Pro Enhanced games, you can expect to see improved graphics while working on 60FPS at the same time. PS5-Pro-supported games work like a combination of Performance and Fidelity modes, upgraded even further with modern technology for a truly immersive feel.
God of War Ragnarök has a free DLC titled God of War Ragnarök Valhalla, which is like a standalone game, and epilogue to the narrative of GoW Ragnarök. There is no word if Valhalla has also been updated for PS5 Pro. But, since it is basically the same game, it is safe to assume that the DLC will get updated as well.
