Alan Wake 2 is one of the most visually impressive games of today. It also boasts a very gripping story, so it is no wonder that it snagged a couple of awards back in 2023. It is no surprise that when Sony announced more than 50 games that will have the PS5 Pro Support tag on the day of PlayStation 5 Pro’s launch, Alan Wake 2 was on the list. But, that is not all. PS5 Pro users and Alan Wake 2 fans are in for a treat as the PS5 Pro improvements update for their favorite game has just been released.
Latest Alan Wake 2 Update Adds Some PS5 Pro Improvements
On December 16, Remedy Entertainment released an update for Alan Wake 2 that fixed some minor issues in the game, but, more importantly, improved how the game works on PS5 Pro. The latest patch notes are:
Improvements and additions
- [PS5 Pro] Added a new “Balanced” graphics mode. This mode requires compatible displays that can achieve a 120Hz refresh rate. The Balanced mode combines PS5 Pro Quality mode settings including raytracing with Performance mode resolution. This mode targets 40fps.
- [PS5 Pro] Slightly adjusted visual settings of the Performance mode to achieve a more consistent framerate.
- [PS5 Pro] Quality and Balanced mode: Adjusted Raytracing settings to achieve a less noisy image.
- [PS5 Pro] Added an option to toggle PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) On/Off.
Fixes
- [The Lake House] Fixed manuscript collectables that showed the wrong page in Saga’s Mind Place.
- [The Lake House] Fixed “Welcome to the Lake House” video collectable missing audio.
- Minor fixes and optimizations.
While PC and Xbox users only get some bug fixes, PS5 Pro players received a bunch of improvements, to make Alan Wake 2 run on PS5 Pro as originally intended. It is true that some games are having issues when running PS5 Pro, so it is a great move by Remedy to work on this.
