Is There a Payday 3 Campaign?
The simple answer is yes, Payday 3 will have a campaign. It can be played in both multiplayer and single-player modes, so having friends on hand will not be necessary to progress through the story.
The campaign will feature eight heists, and all of them will take place in New York City. The game is set in the 2020s after the events of the previous game, Payday 2, when the team of heisters went their separate ways. However, some event had occurred that would cause the team to get back together, and will be explored in the new game.
It is not that surprising that the game would have a campaign after the previous two titles also had one. Players may be disappointed that the new game will launch with less heists than Payday 2, which initially released with 12 heists, but Payday 3 will have post-launch support with new heists released periodically.
Players will need to purchase the Season Pass to get the new heists, but can also be bought separately as they are released. The Year 1 Season Pass is already promising four new heists, and there will most likely be more post-launch support after the first year.
