Once Human quickly became the most sought-after game on Steam, but does this new survival game support PvP? Many players have been wondering about the presence of PvP in the game, and how it will be implemented. So let’s take a look and find out if there is PvP in Once Human and how it works.

Does a Once Human Have PvP?

In short, yes, there is a PvP in Once Human, but it is an optional mode that players can choose to partake in. During character creation in the game, players have the option to choose between PvP or PvE servers. However, the thing to keep in mind is that whatever server type players choose, there is always the option of partaking in PvP. This is done using a Chaos mechanic, which is available to all players no matter what server they are using.

Once Human PvP and Chaos Mode Explained

Whatever server type players end up choosing, they can at any time switch the Chaos mode on (on PC, the default key for this is “P”) and partake in a PvP. Depending on the type of server the player is using, switching to Chaos mode will change the rules of engagement. This means that players on PvE servers can only play PvP against other players who have Chaos mode turned on. Moreover, attacking players that do not use Chaos mode will deal no damage to the attacked player.

While Chaos mode is active, players will have a timer on, which will increase with the use of this mode. On the other hand, if players are starting to fail and are getting overwhelmed, they will be automatically pushed out of this mode. Moreover, all players who are below level 10 will not be able to participate in Chaos mode.

One more thing, all servers in the game have Contested Areas around the map, and entering these areas will automatically bring players into a PvP. These areas are full of rare resources and are high-risk high-reward types of things, hence the risk of PvP.

Echo Stones and Territory Purification Events in Once Human

Echo Stones and Territory Purification Events are game events that affect both PvE and PvP servers. Once Echo Stones are spawned on the world map, all players can go to their location and fight over them. Getting near the location of the Echo Stone will automatically bring players into a PvP. During this event, the goal is to bring the Echo Stone back to your base as fast as possible. Deposit the stones in the Stardust Resource Filter, which will start the Territory Purification Event.

Once the Territory Purification Event is started, players have to defend their territory until the timer runs out. After the timer is done, players will receive a huge reward, which can include the Starchrom currency.

However, there is a difference in these events if players are using the PvE servers. Although the first part stays the same, once players deposit Echo Stones, the Territory Purification event will trigger, and the defending part will be against PvE enemies and monsters rather than other players.
