What is the Assembly Station Bug in My Time at Sandrock?
In the early stages of My Time at Sandrock, you’ll need to use the Assembly Station to build necessary items, like the recycler. However, many players have been affected by a bug that prevents them from retrieving finished builds from the station’s floor. This effectively halts further progress in the game, as constructing a recycler is part of the early game tutorials. That said, this bug isn’t entirely time-specific, showing up at different stages in the game. Because you’re unable to bypass use of the station, finding a solution is critical to move forward.
How to Fix the Assembly Station Bug in My Time at Sandrock
In order to move forward in My Time at Sandrock, your Assembly Station will see a lot of action. That said, a frustrating bug that prevents you from picking up finished items might pose a problem at various stages in the game. Fortunately, there are a couple of ways to fix the Assembly Station bug and pocket the items you’ve built. If you’ve been affected by this common issue, then you should try out the following fixes:
- Restart your build – A solid amount of Steam players affected by this bug have reported that simply retrieving your items from the floor of the Assembly Station and restarting your build can help to resolve the issue at hand. To pocket your materials, open the handbook in front of the floor. You can place each of the used materials back into your inventory from here. Once the floor is cleared, try placing the necessary materials again.
- Sleep and start a new day – In a Reddit thread, Pathea has confirmed that going to sleep can temporarily fix the issue, allowing you to pick up finished items while the development team works on a permanent solution. While it’s somewhat inconvenient to end your in-game day so early, this is a simple solution to an otherwise critical issue. Just head inside your house and select the sleep directive by the bed.
- Save and relaunch the game – When I experienced this bug myself, I resorted to saving my progress and closing out the game. Pathea has since confirmed that this is an effective solution to the problem. To do this, you can either opt to leave the assembled item at the station or retrieve your materials first. I chose to try my luck with leaving the item and picking it up upon relaunching the game. It worked like a charm.
- Start a new save file – This is the most drastic method to resolve the issue, but many players have reported its effectiveness in Steam forums. If you’re just starting out in the game, then this is a viable option, as you won’t lose too much progress. However, it’s certainly a tougher choice for those who have already logged countless hours. Because of this, starting a new game is an effective last resort.
Pathea has stated that they’re working on a permanent resolution to the Assembly Station bug and other critical issues. In the meantime, there are plenty of withstanding workarounds to move forward. For more on My Time at Sandrock, check out these additional guides from our team:
