The Arch-tempered Rey Dau has taken the players by storm. Currently, you can face it in both a Challenge Quest and an Event Quest. This monster has been the main topic of many conversations over the past week or so. However, another monster waltzed right by AT Rey Dau and won the popular vote for the most challenging monster in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Which Monster Is the Most Challenging One?

Well, according to the majority of players, that title goes to none other than Gore Magala! This monster has traumatised so many players, and they are finally speaking up!

InstructionOk4183 noted: “Gore Magala harder than T. Arkveld and AT Rey Dau? Is it just me, or is Gore Magala way harder than both of those monsters mentioned above? I’ve been failing those quests a lot! If it’s not me who faints, then it’s my team”.

Many players agreed with the OP, with some adding what bothered them the most. Professional-Two3764 added: “Gore has faster, unpredictable moves that hit pretty hard. Arkveld is easy to read compared to him. Also fighting gore magala in that freaking claustrophobic mountain doesn’t help at all”.

Still, Gore Magala might be the most challenging, but many Monster Hunter Wilds players welcome that challenge. One player stated: “This all just feels very normal to me. Gore was a big skill check in MH4 where it was introduced, it feels right that it’s a skill check in this game, too”.

Monster Hunter Wilds Community Suggests Strategies for Fighting Gore Magala

Now, how does one face a monster that some players have nicknamed “the crackhead Toothless”? Well, we’d love to say here’s a bunch of tips, you’ll defeat it on your first try. You probably won’t. And, you have a lot of grinding to do. The good news is that certain strategies could help.

One player, ddmirza, stated: “I’d advise adding some defensive skills or charms instead of purely glass cannon ones. At the very least, slap Divine to a 50% incoming damage cut, or some evasion mantle. Gore isn’t even remotely as bad as people make it, most of the times the fault lies in purely damage builds and undergraded armor”.

Another player, keks0r, offered some solid advice. They noted: “Personally, I’d say, if a monster hits you too hard, fix your gear. Most hunters just copy 1:1 speedrunners and meta gear. Those builds are 100% dmg with little the 0 defensive skills. As a more bulky build, I use 2p Zoh Shia with 3p Ray (and my trusty GS). The 3p gives you moxie, and with Zoh Shia, it’s easier to stay above the threshold”.

This player added: “So, if the monster still hits you too hard, check if your gear is upgraded, slot antivirus (or a resistance), use defensive buffs, or even go for divine blessing. The monster hits still too hard? Sounds dumb, but dodge. Bow is all about moving, dodging, and finding the right position”.

So, dear hunter, maybe re-check your gear before trying to fight Gore Madala! We’re sure you’ll get there, don’t give up! If it gets stressful, take a break and come back with more suitable gear. Enjoy the game and happy hunting.
