It’s coming! The Marvel Rivals dev team released a trailer for a new mode, the Giant-Size Hive Mind. As always, the community is split between “ugh, why would that be a mode?” and “that’s the best thing we’ve ever seen”. So, let’s see what the new mode is about and why it’s so polarizing!
The Trailer for the Giant-Size Hive Mind Is Out!
On May 7, James, the Community Manager, posted the announcement on the Marvel Rivals official Discord channel. The CM noted: “Those big brain plays just got a whole lot bigger in our Giant-Size Hive Mind game mode! Channel the power of a collective consciousness on May 9, 2025, and embrace ultimate chaos on the battlefield to become one. Bigger plays–same mind, and double the fun”.
So, basically, this new mode seems to combine the two previous modes, Clone Rumble and Giant-Size Brain Blast. Of course, the CM posted the trailer for the new mode, and we’re always amazed by how great these trailers are.
As the Community Manager mentioned, this mode will be available over the weekend, starting on May 9. Also, you can expect round 2 to start on May 16. So, if you can’t join this weekend, you’ll have another opportunity to try it out the following weekend.
Some Marvel Rivals Players Loved the Trailer, Others Not as Much
As it turns out, although the trailer for the Giant-Size Hive Mind looks quite fun, some Marvel Rivals players weren’t all that impressed. On the other hand, it seems that the majority of community members actually truly loved the idea.
Chihiro-Kikuchi noted: “Huh, I can’t deny it, I laughed like a child at this video. Combining events is actually a genius move”. Delon-Torhidel added: “The combination of the two modes is an awesome idea! And we might even not need the restriction on some of the characters like it was in Clone Rumble”.
Truth be told, we love the idea of combining two modes into one, while simultaneously applying the changes the players asked for. The devs have once again proved they actively listen to the community. So, enjoy, be nice to your fellow players, and see you out there.
