Online team shooters are one of the most popular genres of multiplayer games. The majority of them have some form of announcer or commentator. They range from simply announcing kills (like the classic “M-M-M-MONSTER KILL”) to almost live commentary (like in The Finals). The majority falls somewhere in the middle, and Marvel Rivals is no different. It has Galacta as the game’s host, who is there to lead you through the basics and serve as an announcer during your matches. It’s all good, but Marvel Rivals players would love some more announcer options in the future.
Announcer Packs Would be a Great Addition to Marvel Rivals
Some online games have Announcer Packs, there to provide you with more options to customize your gaming experience, but sadly, Marvel Rivals is lacking in that department. Unfortunately, some players are already a bit sick of Galacta’s commentary and find her a bit annoying, and would love to see some other characters in that role.
Whether you are among them or not, some more Announcer options would be pretty good and the players already give their own ideas. The most popular ones are Nick Fury and James Jonah Jameson. “I’d love to see JJJ’s lines about how it’s Spider-Man’s fault the team is losing, even if there’s not a Spider-Man in the lobby. For Fury if you die have him say ‘You call yourself a superhero? I’m revoking your SHIELD membership you useless. Brain dead. Mother FU- respawns’“ said Resident_Hat9904 on Reddit.
Others would love to see Deadpool as an announcer, as he would surely be the most hilarious one out there (and be breaking the fourth wall all the time). On the opposite end of the spectrum, Thanos would be the most serious one. If only they could get Ryan Renolds and Josh Brolin to do the voiceovers.
Adding more Announcers is a lot of work, but here’s to hoping NetEase Games does something about it.
