Everyone loves a good giveaway, right? Marvel Rivals players are no different than everyone else, and they enjoy giveaway events. However, the recent announcement of the Fantastic Love streamer giveaway event didn’t sit well with the players.
What Is the Fantastic Love Streamer Giveaway Event?
On February 13, Marvel Rivals developers shared details about this event on the official website. The devs decided to celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary of Sue Storm-Richards and Reed Richards in style.
They announced: “Join【Quick Match】during the following time slots, and if you match up with the corresponding streamers, you are eligible to receive The Mister Fantastic & Invisible Woman 60th Wedding Anniversary Bundle. We will contact the qualified participants by the in-game email in 7 business days, be sure to check it and claim your rewards”.
So, everyone who is lucky enough to match with a designated streamer during a specific time slot on a particular server will get the new costumes for Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic. For the Dallas server, the time slot is February 12, 7 PM to 9 PM EST. For the Frankfurt server, the time slot is February 13, 4 PM to 6 PM UTC. Finally, for the Tokyo server, the time slot is from 8 PM to 10 PM JST on February 14.
Marvel Rivals Players Wish for More Inclusive Giveaway Events
According to players, the main problem with the Fantastic Love event is that it’s extremely exclusive. Only a handful of players would actually get to play with streamers, and it seems that better-ranking players stand less chance than the lower-ranking ones.
Akirotan noted: “The streamer event using low-level accounts is a smack in the face to the player base. While it’s not impossible to get into QP matches with low-level players, if you’ve played for a while, the algorithm definitely does not want you to. It’d sooner put you in with bots. And, personally, through all my qp matches at like lvl 40, I have not seen someone below like lvl 15 in my matches”.
Another player, Lightless_meow, added: “I understood this was always going to be a random chance thing, but while I was trying to match with mostly Gale, for the first at least hour of the stream he was matching almost entire lobbies of people under level 10”.
Players were also unsatisfied that this event was very time-limited, so many wouldn’t even get the chance to try to join. CrimsonCorrosion stated: “These events are actually horrible. They’re unfun and ruin the quick matches. Plus the time-specific element makes it so I (and a lot of people) can’t even participate”.
Everyone loves giveaway events, that’s true, but it seems that the devs should take this one back to the drawing board. It has potential, truly, but the execution wasn’t perfect. With mid-Season approaching, The Thing and Human Torch are almost here, so we are sure the new Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic costumes will be quite popular. So, maybe the devs could come up with another giveaway for when the Fantastic 4 reunites. In the meantime good luck and enjoy!
