“Just Because You Can Doesn’t Mean You Should” Marvel Rivals Players Can’t Agree if One Should Do Whatever They Want in Quick Play

Spiderman fighting other characters in Marvel Rivals.

When you’ve had a long day, and you just want to relax and unwind, you don’t play Competitive, right? You choose something less, well, stressful, as Comp matches can get quite heated. When you just want to run around and kill some Heroes, or maybe try out a new Hero, or work on strategies with your Marvel Rivals teammates, you’ll go straight to Quick Play, right? Does that mean that anything goes in QP? Players just couldn’t agree if some rules should still be followed in QP.

Should Anything Go in Quick Play?

Is there anything that should be off-limits in QP? Well, one player, Crafty-Category-932, caused quite a conundrum in the Marvel Rivals community when they claimed that one should be able to do anything in QP.

This player noted: “Spoiler: You can’t change my mind. It doesn’t matter if you play broken or underpowered heroes, 6 DPS, or even Squirrel Girl. It’s quick play, play whatever you want to play, and don’t feel bad about it! (Except Spiderman, that’s a straight-up Troll pick)”.

Now, this looks okay at first glance, and more than 2,4k players agreed with the OP. Some players insisted that playing whatever and however they wanted in QP was fair since it didn’t hurt anyone, technically. However, we’d suggest still checking with your team if they don’t mind you experimenting and making a mess. Always remember that you might be ruining someone else’s downtime.

Marvel Rivals Players Agree One Should Play However They Want… as Long as It Doesn’t Ruin the Game for Others

Still, numerous players wholeheartedly disagreed that one should do whatever they wanted in Quick Play in Marvel Rivals. They gladly offered numerous reasons why the OP was in the wrong, and truth be told, we agree with them.

N7_Pathfind3R noted: “Well this applies to any mode. Nothing stopping you from playing what you want in the comp outside of bans. doesn’t mean your team is gonna like you tho”. Another player, Mr-mountain-road, added: “Preach. It would be fine if people bear the consequence. Like, sure, be the 5th DPS, let the healer solo heal or have Venom solo tank, but don’t go cry around when people throw blame at the choice”.

One player, sweetbabyger, explained: “What fun is there in being beaten so bad you don’t even get to try a character you want to play because you’re getting killed so fast. I get people who say who cares it’s only quick play and not ranked but to me that’s like playing a sport and not trying at all because it’s only a scrimmage”.

So, even though it’s “only” QP, people like winning, or at least trying to win. If you have a clear strategy in mind, go ahead, present it, try it, if it fails, everything is okay. However, if someone joins or QP match just to wreak chaos, we’re leaving.

Don’t get us wrong, we all have to start somewhere if we’re trying out a new Hero, but we’ll always try our best, and play support. So, we’ll see you out there, be nice to others, and enjoy.
