One thing is for sure – Marvel Rivals developers truly know how to surprise the player base. First, they came up with Clone Rumble, and now, they announced an even more ridiculous (in the best possible way) mode. The Giant-Size Brain Blast mode is coming to Marvel Rivals, and, um, you can run, but you definitely cannot hide with a head that big.
What Is the Giant-Size Brain Blast Mode?
On April 22, the devs announced the new mode. They posted the details on various social media accounts, but most importantly, they shared the amazing trailer on YouTube.
The devs noted: “Heads Up – literally! Introducing Giant-Size Brain Blast, the most mind-blowing mode in Marvel Rivals! Get in, get huge, and get your name on that leaderboard. Score free event-exclusive titles and an emote just for playing. Starting April 25, everyone’s rocking oversized noggins and even bigger plays. Big heads, big fights, BIG FUN”.
By now, all fans probably know that NetEase doesn’t mess around when it comes to trailers, like the Hellfire Gala announcement trailer, when the players first saw Emma Frost. However, this trailer is on a whole other level. We have to admit, the sound effects sealed the deal for us, and we can only hope the devs will put them in the game as well.
Marvel Rivals Community Is Split Over the New Mode
Everyone has different expectations and ideas for what their favorite game should be. So, naturally, Marvel Rivals players couldn’t agree if the Giant-Size Brain Blast mode was just a silly idea that the devs brought to life, or if it showed that the devs weren’t taking the game seriously.
One player, AskinggAlesana, noted: “Looks like another mode that people will get bored with within 2 matches and then return to classic”. Sure enough, some players agreed, calling this mode “a waste of time”, but, kind of surprisingly, the majority of players loved the idea.
Many players saw this mode as an homage to some much older games. SirenMix stated: “It reminds me of the old funny cheat codes on some older games on the PS2 and whatnot”.
Other players were just happy that the Marvel Rivals devs were confident enough to do their own thing. One player, eriqmav, noted: “I love how they’re not scared to add actual fun content to the game rather than just trendy things, keep up the good work”.
We’d say that silly modes such as this one contribute quite a lot, actually. They show the devs’ creative side, and give some hope that the future of the game will be, well, fun. So, enjoy the game, be nice to your Strategists, and see you out there.
