Spider-Man mains rejoice! A shiny new Spider-Man costume was just added to Marvel Rivals. This unexpected drop was due to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 finally being released on PC. So, if you are a fan of this amazing character, it’s time to hit the Store.
A New Spider-Man Costume Hits the Store
On the evening of January 29, James, a Marvel Rivals Discord Community Manager, posted an announcement. It was titled: “Balance is a Process. Not a Destination”.
The announcement read: “Marvel Rivals brings you the iconic Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Costume! To celebrate the arrival of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (2023) to PC, this costume radiates courage, responsibility, and resilience. Whether you’re soaring above the cityscape or battling foes in epic showdowns, channel your inner hero with this must-have look. Release Date: Thursday 30 January 2025 at 03:00. Be ready to save the city”.
At the time of writing this article, the costume is already available in the game, as a part of Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Bundle. Currently, the Bundle is discounted from 1800 to 1400 Units.
Players Don’t Know How They Feel About the Costume
Surprisingly enough, the new Spider-Man costume managed to split the Marvel Rivals community. If you look at the Discord announcement, you’ll see over 18k positive reactions, of which around 9k are hearts, while the rest are fire reactions.
However, some players were thoroughly disappointed that the new Spider-Man costume wasn’t free. Some noted that it should have been gifted to players to mark the start of a new era for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Other players were slightly disappointed with the choice of colors and the overall fit of the costume. Incident_Few noted: “I was stoked for the skin but watched a showcase before purchasing… decided it best to just wait for a cool skin that doesn’t look strangely ill-fitting for both this game and the one it came from”.
So, what do you think? Will you be purchasing this costume? Truth be told, we like it, but there are plenty of costumes on our to-buy list, so this one will have to wait a bit.
