Want to know how to unlock the Dark Crusader class in Lords of the Fallen? Stick around. We’ll run through the steps to gain access to one of the coolest classes in the game.
Lords of the Fallen brings nine starting classes to the table, allowing you to choose a character build that best suits your preferences and unlock more as the game goes on. As with any true RPG, each class comes equipped with exclusive weapons and armor, though weak at the game’s starting point. That said, you’ll find that classes come with their own unique strengths. Moreover, each has a distinct look. All things considered, the Dark Crusader class stands out as a fan-favorite among players. Here’s how to unlock the Dark Crusader class if you didn’t secure it as a starter with the Deluxe Edition.
- Explore A Vast, Interconnected World: Journey across two expansive, parallel worlds in your epic quest to overthrow Adyr. While the living realm presents its own brutal challenges, untold terrors lurk in the nightmarish realm of the dead. Encounter a wide array of characters, eager to offer a dubious hand…
- Define Your Own Legend: Fully customise your character’s appearance from a wide array of visual options, before selecting one of nine character classes. Whichever starting path you take, develop your character to your own playstyle by upgrading stats, weapons, armour and spells.
- Master Fast, Challenging Fluid Tactical Combat: Only those that master the deep, tactical combat can hope to survive. Choose from 100s of uniquely brutal weapons, or forgo metal for magic with devastating attacks of the arcane.
- Unite or Fight in Online Multiplayer: Experience the expansive, single player campaign alone, or invite a second player to join your adventure in uninterrupted, online co-op. But be warned – heroes from other realms can, and will invade.
- Wield a Device of Ungodly Power: Your lantern possesses the ungodly power to cross between worlds. Use this dark art to reach forgotten places, unearth fabled treasures, and even manipulate the very soul of your foe.
How to Unlock the Dark Crusader Class in Lords of the Fallen
Those who chose not to spend the extra cash on the Deluxe Edition of Lords of the Fallen still have a chance to play as the Dark Crusader, though you’ll need to make some progress in the game to do it. On the downside, this means you won’t be able to begin your playthrough as a Dark Crusader. However, you can subsequently play as this class on a replay. Fortunately, you’ll just need to complete Isaac’s questline to effectively unlock the fan-favorite Dark Crusader. Follow these steps to finish the job.
Locate the Flayed Skin
After you defeat the tutorial boss in Lords of the Fallen, you can find the Flayed Skin nearby. Just head to the right outside the arena. You should find it at the very end of the path.
Examine Umbral Stigmas
Throughout Lords of the Fallen, you’ll need to investigate several Umbral Stigmas in the Umbral realm. Numbering four in total, each will tell the tale of Isaac. You can find them from the following vestige points in each of these areas.
- Lower Calrath – Depot Vestige
- Fief of the Chill Curse – Fief Vestige
- Fief of the Chill Curse – Nest Vestige
- Path of Devotion – Memorial Vestige
Defeat Isaac in Battle
When you locate the last Umbral Stigma on the Path of Devotion, another path will open in the Umbral realm. Soulflay the stigma to take on Isaac in battle there. Defeating him will require a bit of leveling up, but you should be able to handle this fight if you’ve made it this far. Your win will earn you the Umbral-Tinged Flayed Skin.
Obtain Isaac’s Armor
To get your hands on Isaac’s armor, start by fast traveling to the place you found the Flayed Skin. This area is easily accessed from the Sepulchre Vesitge. Once there, enter the Umbral realm and open the door with the Umbral-Tinged Flayed Skin. You’ll now have access to a lower platform, where Isaac’s armor, weapon, and rosary are found.
Defeat the Lightreaper Alongside Isaac
This last step is critical in completing the process. If you’ve already beaten the Lightreaper in Upper Calrath yourself, then you won’t be able to summon Isaac to battle. This means you’ll have to make another attempt during your next playthrough. However, those who put off this feat should be able to add the Dark Crusader class to their roster upon defeat.
