The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel to the 2017 Nintendo Switch title The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which does not happen often in the main Zelda franchise. It has happened before, most notably with Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask, but each new game is much different than the previous one.
Despite Tears of the Kingdom being a sequel, it does feature a lot of items that were notable in other titles within the series. Does the same mentality apply to characters as well, such as Wolf Link from Twilight Princess?

Does Wolf Link Appear in Tears of the Kingdom?
The simple to the question if Wolf Link is in the game is no, the transforming canine version of Link does not show up in Tears of the Kingdom. It would seem to be a bit silly to have two Links running around Hyrule unless it was seriously part of the story, but not as weird as one might assume.
Players could actually summon Wolf Link as a companion in the previous game, Breath of the Wild, by scanning the Wolf Link amiibo. The companion had its own health bar and could gather food or attack enemies.
Scanning the same amiibo in Tears of the Kingdom does not have the same effect. Scanning it will drop various meat and other items, which is definitely a downgrade.
Are There Connections Between Tears of the Kingdom and Twilight Princess?
While there are no direct connections between the two games, players can get Twilight Princess-themed armor pieces in Tears of the Kingdom. Players can get the Twilight armor set to dress then current Link up as the Gamecube/Wii Link, and also earn Midna’s Helmet to wear as well. The latter armor piece even helps resist Gloom, which is spread about Hyrule and can cause damage when touched.
