Lords of the Fallen is the newest soulslike game to hit the market, and players are eager to find out if they’ll be able to log in through different devices seamlessly with its cross platform support. With some major upgrades as compared to the 2014 version, Lords of the Fallen has definitely expanded its horizons in terms of gameplay as well as content. But while you’re traversing through Axiom and Umbral on your console, will it be the same when you get on your PC?
Will Lords of the Fallen Be Cross Platform?
Unfortunately, Lords of the Fallen developers have not mentioned anything in their release notes about the game being cross platform. What this means is that once you start playing the game on one platform, your progress is locked in with that platform only. Logging in through a different device to the same account won’t transfer the progress over.
This might be disappointing to some readers since the game itself is quite lengthy, and players might wish to switch over to a different platform. However, that won’t be possible with Lords of the Fallen as it does not support cross platform. The is variable on all different platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, but you’ll have to start from scratch when switching over to a different platform to play the game.
Still, to soften the blow, Defiant Studios did introduce a crossplay feature in the game, allowing your friends to join in on your adventures without any hassles. Since the game no longer features large-group battles, it’s just you and your duo against the evils of Axiom and Umbral.
- Explore A Vast, Interconnected World: Journey across two expansive, parallel worlds in your epic quest to overthrow Adyr. While the living realm presents its own brutal challenges, untold terrors lurk in the nightmarish realm of the dead. Encounter a wide array of characters, eager to offer a dubious hand…
- Define Your Own Legend: Fully customise your character’s appearance from a wide array of visual options, before selecting one of nine character classes. Whichever starting path you take, develop your character to your own playstyle by upgrading stats, weapons, armour and spells.
- Master Fast, Challenging Fluid Tactical Combat: Only those that master the deep, tactical combat can hope to survive. Choose from 100s of uniquely brutal weapons, or forgo metal for magic with devastating attacks of the arcane.
- Unite or Fight in Online Multiplayer: Experience the expansive, single player campaign alone, or invite a second player to join your adventure in uninterrupted, online co-op. But be warned – heroes from other realms can, and will invade.
- Wield a Device of Ungodly Power: Your lantern possesses the ungodly power to cross between worlds. Use this dark art to reach forgotten places, unearth fabled treasures, and even manipulate the very soul of your foe.
Will Lords of the Fallen Have Crossplay?
As we mentioned before, Lords of the Fallen developers have kept the crossplay feature to make it easier for players across different platforms to play together. This is especially important because if you’re only going to have one partner, you’d rather it was someone you knew than a stranger.
With crossplay, people from any platform can come together and play without facing any lackings in the game. The crossplay feature is not limited to only the most recent-generation consoles, rather, you can even on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, a feature some newer games have since removed.
This is a massive change, especially for players who have played the original Lords of the Fallen (2014) because that version was single-player through and through. There were no multiplayer modes whatsoever, making it tedious at times.
