Is Lords Of The Fallen A Sequel?

One of the enemies in Lords of the Fallen.

You are having a blast playing Lords of the Fallen and begin to wonder if the new game is a sequel to the 2014 title? Let’s find out.

Lords of the Fallen has finally been released as players are as of late traversing its world that has been ravaged by unspeakable evils. While most of the players are currently switching between the game’s two realms, some are figuring out whether this new installment is a follow-up to its 2014 namesake.

Yes, the latest Lords of the Fallen is related to the previous title, since the story of the new game is set 1,000 years after the events of the first game.

The heroes of the first game were able to defeat the demon god Adyr. However, a thousand years have passed and the threat of the demon god returning seems inevitable. With that in mind, players are now tasked to traverse the game’s parallel worlds to defeat Adyr once again.

Another thing worth mentioning is the fact that both worlds of Axiom and Umbral are way more massive than it was in 2014.

Is Lords of the Fallen A Reboot?

It is a no in the sense that its game developer, Hexworks, wants the new game to be known as a reboot. Its Creative Director Cezar Virtosu previously revealed that the latest installment was supposed to be known as Lords of the Fallen: The Dark Crusade. This was scrapped as they reasoned out that it did not reflect the way they wanted the new game to be introduced to players.

Additionally, during last year’s Gamescon, it was announced as The Lords of the Fallen, until the “the” from the title was eventually dropped.

Lords of the Fallen is available on Steam, Xbox Games Store, Epic Games Store, and on its official website. The game currently has two versions – the standard edition where you’ll be getting the base game and the Deluxe Edition.
