The maintenance period was expected to last for an hour and fifteen minutes, with the game being brought back online at 10:00am PDT. This maintenance period is in preparation for the release of Update 7.0.5, which is set to be released later that day.

It is important to note that during this maintenance period, players will be removed from activities and will not be able to log back in until maintenance is complete. Players logging into the game may be placed in a queue and may experience sign-on issues as background maintenance is still ongoing.
It is also important to note that Bungie has stated that sign-on and game integration features will be unavailable on the web, mobile, 3rd-party apps, and the Bungie Store during the maintenance period. This means that players will not be able to access the game through these channels until maintenance is complete.
Players who encounter issues updating to 7.0.5 should restart their console and try downloading the hotfix. If players encounter connectivity issues after maintenance has concluded, or are unable to log in to Destiny when there is no planned maintenance impacting Destiny services, they may need to attempt basic connectivity troubleshooting.
This can include clearing their console cache, power cycling their network hardware, or reading through the Network Troubleshooting Guide.
