How to Turn Off Spiders in Hogwarts Legacy

Arachnophobia Mode spider with roller skates by Hogwarts Legacy text

With the second release of Hogwarts Legacy, the development team has dropped an update that now allows players to effectively turn off spiders. Deemed Arachnophobia Mode, this will enable those with a fear of spiders to play the acclaimed game without worry.

Spiders are recurring enemies throughout Hogwarts Legacy, so the new mode was an essential addition to the game. However, activating this setting doesn’t remove them from the gameplay experience; rather, it puts a comical spin on spider enemies.

With Arachnophobia Mode, every spider you encounter will take on a cartoonish appearance, equipped with roller skates on their feet. This is somewhat of an homage to the Boggart scenes in the related books and movies, which helps to lighten the mood for those who fear spiders.

How do you activate the newly introduced Arachnophobia Mode in Hogwarts Legacy? You’ll just need to adjust your settings. Here’s how.

Bear in mind that turning on Arachnophobia Mode will not eliminate spiders from the game entirely. If activated, Arachnophobia Mode will simply change the appearance of these pesky enemies to make them far less frightening. This means you’ll still be able to get spider-related achievements and such.

All in all, this is great news all around, as those with a fear of spiders won’t miss out on anything in the game. Not to mention, it was a clever way for developers to appropriately reference an aspect of the Wizarding World that franchise fans will appreciate.
