Anyone who’s played Among Us will know that the Imposter role is usually hard to come across. Therefore, it can often be difficult to navigate the different mechanics you have at your disposal as the Imposter. One such mechanic is the Sabotage option which creates instances of confusion in parts of the map that crew members must urgently attend to, allowing imposters to blend in. Let’s dive into how you can maximize this ability!
Among Us – How To Sabotage
In order to sabotage parts of the map, you will first have to access the Sabotage menu by clicking on the Sabotage button at the bottom-right of the screen. This will bring up a map with all the possible sabotages at your disposal. Then, simply clicking on the room you want to sabotage will initiate its respective sabotage.

For example, just clicking on the Radioactive symbol in the Reactor room will start a Reactor meltdown, urging crewmates to fix it within a certain period of time or else everyone dies (and the imposter(s) win by default). However, bear in mind that it becomes extremely apparent when you are standing still to initiate sabotage, so it is better to keep moving while you are on the Sabotage menu to disguise yourself as part of the crew.
Furthermore, it is also worth noting that all sabotages (except the door sabotage) will place all your other sabotage on cooldown. The cooldown will last for 30 seconds on all sabotages except the doors that become available to sabotage in just 17 seconds.
All The Sabotage Abilities In Among Us
In Among Us, there are a total of five different Sabotage abilities that are at the Imposter’s disposal. All these have different effects and will have to be used according to the situation so as to not draw unnecessary attention to yourself. Here is a list of all the currently active Sabotage abilities in the game and their effects.
