In Dead Island 2, you need weapons to fight off the undead horde of Hell-A. However, weapons aren’t as durable as one would like, as weapons can break after a certain amount of use, and being without a trusty weapon is dangerous. Yet in Dead Island 2, you can repair weapons, and it doesn’t take much know-how. Use this guide to learn how!
Dead Island 2 How to Repair Weapons
To repair a weapon in Dead Island 2, you must find a workbench located all over the regions of Hell-A, interact with it, hold down a button, and it’ll repair it, and the only resource needed is cash.
You find the first workbench in Emma Jaunts’ mansion, as you are instructed to mod a weapon. At these workbenches, you can repair weapons. All you need to do is select the weapon you wish to repair and hold down the button prompt in the bottom right corner.
- On PC, it’s the Enter key.
- On PlayStation, it’s X.
- On Xbox, it’s A.
Every weapon has a white gauge on the icon of the weapon; this is its durability. When the weapon starts to lose this durability, the white will turn gray. All weapons can be repaired. They do not need to be shown as red, which means the weapon is unusable and broken. We recommend repairing weapons before they break entirely because it’s cheaper. Also, the rarer the weapon, the more it will cost to fix.

All workbenches, when found, will appear on your map as a wrench and hammer crossed, so you’ll never forget where you can find them. Yet, you will always find a workbench in the exact location as a fast travel point, which makes things easier. But you can find several workbenches per area, even if areas that are a go-between to link one place to another.
The only resource you need to repair a weapon is cash. You can pick up money by selling items to merchants or by finding them in the world. Money can be found all over Hell-A, inside luggage, cabinets, dropped from zombies, and from completing challenges and more.
