The ability to Peek Corners is an important skill to learn in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. While Escape from Tarkov and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege has great mechanics for this, it takes more work to accomplish in MW2.
Leaning, or peek corners, requires players to follow a few steps. This is how it works.
How To Lean and peek Corners in Modern Warfare 2
Leaning is tied to mounting in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Go up to any flat wall or vehicle with a corner, and hold the aim button (L2 and LT for PlayStation and Xbox; right–click on PC), and an in-game Mount prompt will appear. Press the melee button (R3 and RS for PlayStation and Xbox; Mouse Button 5 and T for PC) to mount the surface.
Press the aim button again to peek.
You will then peek around the corner, exposing only your upper torso and head. To stop leaning, press the melee button again.

Doing this has many benefits, like a noticeably reduced recoil, safer aiming, and seeing your enemies without completely exposing yourself.
Because there are so few places for enemies to go on smaller maps, leaning around corners is ideal for taking out more enemies. Leaning makes it hard to turn around quickly, and you don’t want to give your enemy an easy opportunity for a finishing move. So when leaning, always keep an ear out for footsteps.
Enemies can still shoot you, so don’t assume this gives you complete protection. An astute enemy can headshot you if you peek around the corner more than a few times. When you see multiple enemies, throw a flashbang and take them out after it explodes.
