How to Use Your Broom in Hogwarts Legacy
The controls to mount your broom will differ depending on which gaming console you’re using to play Hogwarts Legacy. Each will be outlined by Professor Kogawa when you attend Flying Class and get your hands on a broom. However, the process can seem a bit tricky, as you’ll first need to access your action wheel. Here’s a closer look at how to start flying on your platform:
Platform | Controls |
---|---|
Xbox | Hold LB, then press B |
PlayStation | Hold L1, then press Circle |
PC | Hold Tab + 3, then press Q |
Switch | Hold L, then press A |
Dismounting
To dismount your broom in Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll just need to use the same input while you’re close to the ground. Press B on Xbox, Circle on PlayStation, Q on PC, or A on Switch to get the job done.
Ascending and Descending
Controlling the direction of your broom will take a bit of practice when you’re new to flying in Hogwarts Legacy. To ascend and descend, you’ll just use the left stick, or Space and Ctrl on PC. This will work in tandem with shifting your camera view. Using the right stick will allow you to change your view and move in different directions.
Accelerating
Once you’ve gotten the hang of riding your broom at low speeds, you’ll probably want to accelerate a bit. This can be done by holding RT on Xbox, R2 on PlayStation, ZR on Switch, or L + Shift on PC.
Just be warned that some brooms are faster than others, so you may need to practice flying a bit more to manage your broom. You can purchase brooms of different styles and speeds at Spintwitches Sporting Needs in Hogsmeade.
