How Do You Unlock the Crucio Curse in Hogwarts Legacy?
Crucio is unlocked by completing quests in the Sebastian Sallow questline. The spell is unlocked during the In the Shadow of the Study quest.
During this quest, players come face to face with a magically locked door. The door requires that a witch or wizard cast Crucio on another for the door to open. Players can either choose to cast Crucio on Sebastian or have Sebastian cast Crucio on the player. Either way, the spell will become available.

What Does the Crucio Curse Do in Hogwarts Legacy?
The Crucio curse damages a target over time, as well as binding and stunning them for a small amount of time. Players can also upgrade the spell to curse enemies it is cast on. This will make them take bonus damage on the next spell cast, making the Crucio curse a great way to open a fight, before hitting enemies with a big damage follow-up while they’re stunned.
Will You Get In Trouble for Casting the Crucio Curse in Hogwarts Legacy?
There are no repercussions for using the Crucio curse in Hogwarts Legacy. There is no morality system in place in the game, meaning casting the spell has no lasting effects on other characters and players’ relationships with them.
This seems odd, especially given the unforgivable nature of the curse, but it is what it is. For players who want to feel evil go wild. Cast the curses as much as you want, and still feel welcome in class the next day.
