We are so excited for this! The majority of players are basically perfect Helldivers, as they turn on the game and just go on and spread Managed Democracy. And that’s perfectly fine! Everyone should play the game however they wish to. However, there is much more to this game, and you might be missing an entire aspect of it – strategy. So, we were overjoyed when we saw the Helldivers 2 devs step in and explain the concept of gambits in a dispatch. Trust us, this mechanic is a game-changer.
What Did the High Command Say About Gambits?
On April 18, Helldivers logged on and found a Strategic Advisory waiting for them. It noted: “All Helldivers should factor the following advisory into their strategic decision-making: Enemy forces stage their attacks on our planets from an originating planet. Liberating the originating planet ends the enemy attack immediately”.
They explained what that meant for the situation at the time. They stated: “In the current operational context, liberating Bore Rock would end the current Termini attacks on Terrek and Erata Prime”.
Well, Helldivers delivered! At the time of writing this article, Bore Rock is 97% liberated! This goes to show that the players might be a lot more interested in exploring different strategies… if they knew the strategies existed.
Helldivers 2 Players Have a Chance to Complete the MO
The current Major Order is quite demanding. The players have to fend off nine Terminid attacks. Furthermore, the Predator Strain is wreaking chaos. However, the fact that the Helldivers 2 devs explained the gambits in-game might give the Helldivers a fighting chance.
Well, there is another gambit active at the time of writing this article! The new Strategic Advisory arrived mere hours ago. It explained that liberating Acamar IV would stop the attacks on Turing and Crimsica.
So, dear Helldiver, spread the word! We’ve seen dozens of messages and posts on social media, calling players to liberate the gambit planet. Obviously, we’ll be diving on Acamar IV, maybe we’ll even befriend a Scavenger. Will you join us? For Liberty and Super Earth.
