The current Major Order just became a bit more complicated. As you know, the players are split between defense missions on the bot front and killing 500 million bugs to fuel the DSS. Funnily enough, Helldivers thought that the bots would be a bigger challenge, however, they forgot about one of the bug storylines. Well, nothing like a huge breach to remind Helldivers 2 players of the existence of Tyranny Park.
An Emergency Alert Explains the Breach in the Tyranny Park
On November 12, following a loss on Tarsh, Helldivers galaxy-wide received an Emergency Alert. It stated: “The Terminid Research Center has suffered a catastrophic security breach. A massive subterranean hive erupted underneath Tyranny Park, massacring visitors and staff. The cause is under investigation, but previous unresolved incursions into the planetary perimeter may have been a factor”.
This Emergency Alert brought even more bad news. It continued: “The outbreak has spread to the surrounding planets, including the Xenoentomology Center on Turing. The Center has critical research data and must be protected”.
At the time of writing this article, there is a defense mission taking place on Turing, and by the looks of it, Helldivers will manage to defend the Xenoentomology Center. Also, devoted Helldivers managed to kill around 365 million bugs since the start of the Major Order. That means they have around 135 million bugs left until enough E-710 to fuel the DSS.
Helldivers 2 Players Look on the Bright Side
First of all, no one could have predicted there would be a breach and the bugs would escape Tyranny Park, that would be treasonous in Helldivers 2. So, naturally, some Helldivers saw this as a blessing in disguise.
Karambana noted: “Good news is, we’ll get the fuel faster with more people participating in the bug killing”. Others pointed out that more bugs on designated planets would unite the players.
It’s also worth mentioning that the players chose to defend Turing rather than liberate Acamar IV from where the bugs were spreading. Even though it’s possible that their logic was to kill more bugs that way, we presume that they just didn’t have enough information on the Galactic map.
As expected, many players asked for nukes, or at least a Temporary Arsenal Augmentation, like the one they received for the previous Major Order. Hopefully, Joel will hear their pleas and deliver some big booms.
Well, several previous MOs were deemed boring in the community. The one thing that we can safely say about this one is that it isn’t boring. So, let’s enjoy it to the fullest. We’ll be on the bug front for the time being, will you join us there? For Liberty and Super Earth.
