The new MO is here! And, it isn’t something anyone expected. You see, there have been plenty of plans to stop the Meridian Singularity. The main reason for that is the players’ wish to finally get some new Illuminate units. However, the Helldivers 2 developers seemingly have a different plan, as the new Major Order gives players an opportunity to choose one DSS upgrade.
The Major Order Could Bring a DSS Upgrade
The new MO arrived on April 7. The players were surprised when they realized this MO might improve the DSS, even though the community has been asking for some changes for months. However, this won’t be an easy task! The High Command gave players a choice, and, unfortunately, we all know how those MOs go.
So, what’s the MO? The High Command issued a briefing that explained everything. The engineers at the Deep Mantle Forge Complex have some completed designs that could majorly improve the DSS. As you might know, the DSS played a big role in the Popli IX defense last week. It only makes sense to buff it, so it would be even more helpful in the future.
The engineers came up with two ideas, and Helldivers have to choose between them. First, the addition of the Exosuit Support Bay. This would reduce the cooldown of all the Exosuit Stratagems by 35%. This production is connected to Wezen because of the factories on that planet.
The second choice is the Expanded Convocation Bay. This would reduce the cooldown of the Eagle Re-Arm by 15%. If the Helldivers choose this upgrade, they need to liberate Trandor, as a “part of a mutually beneficial agreement with Admiral Defense”.
Both of these options require liberating three planets. To get to Wezen, Helldivers need to liberate Ustotu and Varylia 5. On the other hand, getting to Trandor means liberating Gar Haren and Gatria as well. At the time of writing this article, Helldivers have four days and three hours left.
Helldivers Would Rather Focus on the Illuminate
Completing the Major Order and getting a DSS upgrade is cool, but Helldivers 2 players will have a rough couple of days ahead. We all know that picking one option (and sticking to it) isn’t really how this community rolls.
Currently, the players are split between the fronts instead of focusing on just one option. However, it seems that Wezen might prevail, as Ustotu is almost liberated. The problem is that there is no guarantee the players will stick to this option. There are plenty of “we can do both” posts all over social media.
There is another concerning aspect. As we’ve mentioned, many Helldivers were hoping for a Squid MO. You see, a big part of this community believes that the rest of the Illuminate will arrive on April 8, during the BAFTA Game Awards, because the Squid vanguard arrived during the Game Awards.
We have to be patient for a little while, but hopefully this will come to fruition. In the meantime, let’s focus and have fun with the current Major Order. You’ll find us on Ustotu, for the time being. For Liberty and Super Earth.
