It’s been a while since the last major update, thus the players are starting to get a bit antsy. However, the lack of new content allows for the community to come up with new and exciting ideas, as well as some community challenges. The latest Helldivers 2 challenge was inspired by Halo 3: ODST. Given that this is one of the most asked-for collaborations, you just know that this challenge has to be next level.
The ODST Challenge Is Quite Brutal
One of our favorite Helldivers 2 YouTubers, CommissarKai, presented the ODST challenge. The OP was inspired by the Killzone collab and decided to honor one of their favorite games. They noted: “Since I was such a big fan of the Killzone crossover for Helldivers 2, I thought I would take it upon myself to create the feel of one of my favorite games of all time, Halo 3: ODST. We’ll be running a Super Helldive mission against the Illuminate with no map, no nameplates, and no stratagems aside from support weapons, and yes that includes reinforcements”.
Following an attack, the OP and their squad had to evacuate the SES Emperor of Democracy and go on an emergency mission. To stay true to ODST, the crew split up at the start of the mission. Eventually, they found each other and continued fighting the Squids together.
Aside from the challenge idea, you’ll also see a fun use of the FRV in this video, around the 12.10 mark. Sadly, many sacrifices were made, but we won’t spoil the ending for you, don’t worry.
Helldivers 2 Players Appreciate a Good Challenge
The Helldivers 2 community loved the ODST challenge. Many players noted how they couldn’t wait to try out this challenge with their squad. Others praised CommissarKai for a creative way to spice up the stale missions.
One player, kalebomb5018, stated: “This is amazing content, my dude! I absolutely love it when people set challenges and constraints like this in games for an immersive roleplay experience. And, this works so well in Helldivers! I’ve subbed to your channel, getting a whole community in on things like this makes games 10x more rewarding”.
What we love about KommissarKai’s videos is the fact that they provide a full cinematic experience. The stories are interesting, the action parts are just amazing, and they usually have the right amount of that particular Helldivers’ humor. Hopefully, the Helldivers movie will give us something similar. In the meantime, we suggest you try out this challenge with your crew, while you wait for the next Major Order.
