Aside from the Democracy Space Station, it’s been a while since the players received some exciting new content. So, seasoned Helldivers have been coming up with challenges to spice up their experience. For example, when the Constitution dropped, many players challenged themselves by using a WW1 build. Well, some Helldivers 2 players went a step further and created the Left Behind Challenge. In it, you have to try to complete the mission with absolutely no air support.
What Is the Left Behind Challenge?
One very devoted Helldiver and YouTuber, CommissarKai, tried to complete this challenge with their crew. The OP posted the video on YouTube and named it Left Behind Challenge – Mines, Support Weapons, and Nerves of Steel.
They noted: “The DSS needed to be protected, so my commandos and I volunteered for a one-way mission to hold back the tide. Cut off from our Air support, we were forced to use only Green and Blue stratagems. Helldivers 2 has A LOT of ways to play, and I just found a really fun one”.
In our opinion, this is how all players should role-play. It’s light, they make plenty of references, and most of all, it’s fun. The video shows CommissarKai and their team fighting the bots on Tarsh, trying to decimate the Jet Brigade.
As for the Left Behind Challenge itself, due to the Orbital and Eagle support being called to the bug front, these Helldivers 2 players could only use the Green and the Blue Stratagems. Duplicate Stratagems weren’t allowed. Also, these brave Helldivers could only use the primaries that use gunpowder.
As you may have expected, all hell broke loose, and absolute chaos ensued. While the whole video is very fun to watch, and you can definitely pick up some tips and tricks, our favorite part was the ending. A true cinematic masterpiece.
Helldivers 2 Players Love a Challenge
Anyone who has played the game for a while simply adores finding new ways to challenge themself. Limiting Stratagem use is a simple yet extremely effective way to increase the difficulty of your missions.
SilverGuard noted: “This makes me think there should be mission hazards that limit what you could bring. Just a single type of Stratagem like no Eagle Airstrikes, no Orbitals, no backpack/special weapons (though there could be more to scavenge from the map), or no automated turrets. That would force people to try different load-outs and be a memorable mission”.
Of course, let’s not forget about all the praise CommissarKai received for their democratic efforts. TheMadRatKing stated: “What a hell of an opening. What a hell of a VIDEO. The jokes here are as polished as ever, if there’s anything I can depend on it’s your script being as clean as the democracy officer’s uniform. always top-tier Helldivers’ content from you, boss”.
Honestly, this is one of the most fun videos we’ve seen in a while. So, if you’re stuck in a rut try the Left Behind Challenge, it might be just what you need. And there is a Major Order in progress, so the timing is perfect. For Liberty and Super Earth.
