“What Could Possibly Go Wrong?” The Latest Major Order Has the Helldivers 2 Players Clearing Out Planets Next to the Black Hole

A preview of Urban Legends Warbond in Helldivers 2

The situation is growing more and more tense by the minute. Devoted Helldivers completed the previous Major Order and managed to keep those pesky Squids away. However, the Illuminate may not be gone for long. Something is going on with the black hole, and the latest Major Order sends the Helldivers 2 players to liberate two planets quite nearby.

Helldivers Have to Spread Managed Democracy on Planets Near the Black Hole

The new MO dropped on December 21. As always, Baskinator, the Helldivers 2 Community Manager, posted a briefing on the official Discord channel. Now that it’s obvious that the Illuminate are back, Helldivers should know what to expect.

According to the briefing, anomalous phenomena have been observed close to the black hole (Meridian Singularity). You might remember that the Meridia black hole was created by using the untested Dark Fluid on the Terminid Supercolony.

As it turns out the Meridian Singularity might not be a regular black hole, as the Super Earth scientists suggested. However, the scientists have to run more tests to find out what exactly is going on. In order for them to do so, they need better access to the Meridian Singularity.

The High Command ordered Helldivers to liberate the planets closest to the black hole, so they could build the Centre for Science on Fenrir III. At the time of writing this article, Helldivers had around 3 days and 9 hours left to liberate Fenrir III and defend Erata Prime from all of those annoying bugs.

A Twist Might Cause the Helldivers to Lose the MO

If you thought that liberating a couple of planets near the black hole and completing the Major Order would be an easy feat for Helldivers 2 players, we’re sorry to inform you that you might be wrong. In a twist of events, the Squids attacked Elysian Meadows on the other side of the Galactic Map.

While players do love squishing bugs, having Calamari for lunch is a whole new level of delicacy. The moment the defense of Elysian Meadows started, tens of thousands of Helldivers left the bug front and started fighting Squids.

Warfoki noted: “So… we have an invasion on Erata Prime. Already enough people focus on it that it’s going well. MO now makes it a priority. What could possibly go wrong? AH opens up a non-MO-related squid invasion. About 12k players immediately move from bugs to squids. Now EH is teetering on the edge of barely failing in progression”.

So, dear Helldiver, we know Squids are fun, but we’d still suggest you go to Erata Prime first. This Major order seems to be quite crucial, so it would be a shame if we lost. We’ll meet you there. For Liberty and Super Earth.
