Helldivers 2 player faces the Illuminate on Calypso

It’s always fun to get a glimpse at what’s to come. Be it a new enemy, a new weapon, or even a new biome, it’s nice to have something to look forward to. Thankfully, there are a lot of Helldivers 2 leaks, and the most recent ones are about weapon customization. It seems that the devs are putting in the work and players might finally get what they’ve been asking for.

Leaks Show Off Possible Weapon Customization

Many devoted Helldivers still remember when Pilestedt, the Helldivers 2 CCO talked about planning to introduce more variety and some weapon customization. That was all the way back in August 2024. More recently, at the end of December 2024, some leaks offered a look at a suppressor that was to be added to Helldivers 2.

A prominent leaker, IronS1ghts, delighted Helldivers with their most recent discovery. The OP noted: “(Leak) Weapon Customization. Sooo, yep, it looks like weapon customization is being worked on! Still very buggy at the moment, but I’m working on duct-taping it back together. Here’s a little showcase using a Drum Mag on the Diligence – (Notice the stats on the weapon)”.

As for the stats, well they’re something. Damage is 165, Capacity is increased to 60, Recoil is 35, and Fire Rate is 350. So, the Drum Mag contributed significantly to Capacity, which is something many Helldivers loved seeing.

The OP added: “Now, I still can’t guarantee if this will be made available, however, it is looking VERY promising. I personally think we will see it slowly introduced on a small scale at first, with limited functionality. I had to do a lot of UI modification for this to properly work, so it may not look exact, but it uses the same assets”.

Understandably, Helldivers 2 players were more than excited by the mere idea of weapon customization, and these leaks truly hyped up the community. Unfortunately, given the current state of this system, we’ll all have to wait a while longer before it drops.

In the meantime, the Major Order is in progress. Join your brave fellow divers and let’s fix the mess on Gaellivare, there’s still time to obliterate those pesky bots. For Liberty and Super Earth.
