The Idea of a Stealth Warbond Sneaked Into Helldivers 2 Players’ Hearts

The idea for the latest Warbond, Chemical Agents, might have partially originated from the fans, as they asked for a “gas Warbond” quite a lot. Now, the Helldivers 2 players are hoping that the developers will take notice of an idea for a stealth Warbond.

Helldivers 2 Player Suggests a Stealth Warbond

The idea of a stealth Warbond has been around for quite a while. Even the CEO of Arrowhead, Shams Jorjani, agreed that it was a good idea. Back in August, he replied to a fan inquiring about the possibility of a stealth Warbond. The CEO stated: “Hey – sounds cool – but I have no insights that I can share on that topic”.

Recently, one creative Helldiver, lyndonguitar, came up with an entire concept for a stealth Warbond. This player shared their idea with the community and it received a lot of attention. At the time of writing this article, almost 10k players upvoted the idea for the Phantom Vanguard Warbond.

As with any other Premium Warbond, this one would include armor sets, weapons, a booster, utility, a player title, and, controversially enough, even Stratagems. Truth be told, with all of these goodies, we aren’t surprised that the community loved this suggestion.

The armor sets would include the SC-99 Nightfall Scout and the AF-51 Stalker. The weapons would be the SMG-34 Ninja, the AR-51L Vanguard, and the S2 Ghost Hand. When it comes to the player title, the OP made a brilliant decision for it to be… [Redacted].

As for the Stratagems, this Warbond would include two, the Cloak Backpack and the Noise Dampner. The former would allow a Helldiver to become invisible for 12 seconds, it would then have a cooldown of 20 seconds. The latter would deploy a temporary field within which the Helldivers, and their actions, would be inaudible to enemies.

This Warbond would also include a Decoy Grenade, which would emit a sound and attract the enemies, allowing the Helldivers to sneak by unnoticed. Finally, the suggested booster for this Warbond was Critical Stealth Damage. It would double the damage to unalerted enemies.

Helldivers Love the Idea of Phantom Vanguard Warbond

You probably would probably agree that it isn’t a surprise that the Helldivers 2 community absolutely loved this idea for a stealth Warbond. After all, what’s not to like in this concept?

Fantastic-Ad8410 raved: “I’ve been saying this forever. I want to be able to snipe enemies at 200+m and them not immediately know where I am. AH we need a little bit of “hmmm must’ve been the wind” at longer distances”.

Another player, MoronicIroknee, noted: “Double damage on unalerted enemies would be killer for being able to do solo runs. I’m into it. I’m not much of a stealth person, but I would love the option”. Legitimate-Donut-308 added: “Especially if the decoy grenade just spews propagan-.. I mean spreads the truth of liberty to distract the enemy”.

Even the players who generally weren’t interested in stealth play were smitten by one clever part of this Warbond. Grundlage stated: “Stealth gameplay isn’t my style but [redacted] as a title is a hilarious idea, I’d buy for that alone”.

In a game where the enemy can spot you 500m away, and quite often through a rock, a stealth Warbond could be quite a game-changer. Hopefully, the developers agree with the community and use the momentum and the increased player count to grow the game even more. We all make mistakes, but we have a sneaky feeling the devs will get it right this time. For Liberty and Super Earth.
