It’s been a while since we’ve seen this unit, it’s nice to see that it’s doing well. Helldivers 2 veterans probably already know about the relentless Terminator Bot, but newer players have had some trouble coping with it. Have you ever seen it?
Have You Ever Encountered This Unusual Bot in Helldivers 2?
Recently, a story on Reddit blew up. One player posted a video of a huge Terminator Bot haunting them and not giving up. This unusual bot was not only persistent but also unkillable. The OP explained they were farming for Super Credits (presumably for the new Killzone collab) when a Terminator-like unit approached them.
They noted: “So I was farming SC by myself and I met THIS creepy automaton, it was invincible and running away from me but after some time it started following me. I don’t know what he wants I’m scared as F. HELP”. The OP revealed that this unusual bot followed them to the extraction zone and then just disappeared.
Of course, the Helldivers 2 community jumped at the opportunity to tease one of its members. Hundreds of players swore they couldn’t see the bot in the video. Some wrote it off to Stim addiction, while others, well, they suggested it was PTSD from Malevelon Creek.
Apprehensive_Tea1022 noted: “Soldier… I know the Creek was hell, I served there too. I lost my fellow divers faster than I could remember their names. I’m like you, I hear them every night when I want to sleep, hear them every morning when I’m drinking my cup of liber-tea”.
What Do We Actually Know About the Terminator Bot?
As it turns out, and many Helldivers 2 veterans will confirm this, the Terminator Bot is a feature in the game. Kind of like an easter egg, we suppose? It is extremely rare to stumble upon. In our, erm, many hours of Helldivers 2, we’ve only seen it once.
At first, we tried dropping everything we had on it, but nothing worked. Then, we just let it follow us around since it wasn’t hostile. So, it did, that is until we died. We haven’t seen it again ever since.
However, some players recorded the moment the Terminator Bot shot at them, so beware. Although it mostly just follows players around for a while, you might be unlucky enough to encounter the one that shoots.
So, good luck! Though, with the current Squid invasion, we doubt you’ll be fighting the bots anytime soon. Let’s complete this Major Order, join us on Skaash. For Liberty and Super Earth.
