The latest update has rocked Helldivers’ lives. There are so many wonderful changes that players need to explore that it will take them a while to discover any of the underlying problems. The Helldivers 2 community has uncovered an amusing glitch that actually allows the player to fly, well, sort of.
Learn to Fly
While doing their duty and contributing to the Major Order, one devoted Helldiver discovered they could kinda fly. This player, k_Random, revealed: “Spamming the Emote Key allows you to fly now”. They attached a video in which they could be seen, well, more like walking through the air from one point to the other.
Many community members were quite confused as to how this player even came up with the idea. Now, you might remember, a while ago there was a trend of surviving a fall by emoting. Some players still use this “technique”, while for others it was just a short-lived trend.
Well, the OP recalled: “Tried to negate fall damage by emoting mid-air, then this happened. Unfortunately, I didn’t clip that”. So, while doing one emote mid-air will improve your posture so you’ll land with minimal injuries, spamming the emote button should allow you to fly.
Helldivers 2 Players Love the Glitch
The majority of Helldivers 2 players were astounded by the revelation that they could potentially fly. One player, lfelipecl, noted: “That’s an amazing Wile Coyote bulls**t right there! The gravity can’t get you until you realize you are not on the ground anymore”.
Other players took this opportunity to praise the recent update even more. One Redditor, nexus763, explained: “That’s what happens when you buff things. You get goofy bugs the community starts liking instead of dreading”.
Several players joked that even the bugs were buffed in the latest update. Others, like toshirootomo, had different theories. This player stated: “It’s not a glitch, just a glimpse at the power of FREEDOM that only higher beings such as General Brasch could even embrace without bursting into flames of justice”.
Whatever you choose to believe, we suggest you try out flying before the developers issue another hotfix and remove it from the game. With so many big booms, we’re all bound to be blown away at some point, so why not use that as an opportunity to fly? For Managed Democracy, of course.
