“Send It Back!” Helldivers 2 Players Give Terrible Reviews of the DSS

Many Helldivers were overjoyed when the Democracy Space Station became operational. Half a billion bugs were squished in order to fuel it, and later on, players had to come up with a strategy on how to defend it from the bots. However, many Helldivers 2 players are now regretting saving the DSS in their first reviews following the activation of the Democracy Space Station.

The First Reviews of the DSS Are Quite Bad

For those in the unknown, once the DSS became operational, players found out that they could donate their resources to three different Actions (Planetary Bombardment, Eagle Storm, and Orbital Blockade). Once an action is fully funded, the DSS executes it. Sounds, amazing, right?

Well, after activating the DSS for the first time, players had a lot to say. The first Action the players got to experience was the Planetary Bombardment. According to the in-game description, it sounds quite helpful. The description notes: “The DSS fires nonstop orbital bombardments from its suite of 77 PRESIDENTIAL-Class Cannons, providing planet-wide artillery support and accelerating liberation efforts”.

However, what the description doesn’t mention is the amount of Helldivers that would lose their lives because of this Action. Impressive-Diet838 noted: “I just finished my first mission with the DSS’s Orbital Barrage active, and this community’s worst fears are correct. The orbital bombardment is, in fact, a totally random 380 barrage that covers the entire map”.

Another player, NizzyDeniro, stated: “The DSS does nothing but Team kills you. Honestly…. this is kinda insulting. Two months for this… well thought out feature that just bombs you. My team getting wiped because of the Planetary Bombardment. Wasn’t this supposed to help us? This is honestly kind of insulting, we made a Super Weapon to kill ourselves”.

Many players compared Planetary Bombardment to Meteor Showers… but unannounced. Curious_Freedom6419 explained: “Re-skinned and with no warning. No lights showing you’re about to get smacked”. Some players joked that a new stat should be added – Helldivers killed by the DSS.

Some Helldivers 2 Players Want to Get Rid of the DSS

So, how harsh were the Helldivers 2 players in their reviews of the DSS? Well, truth be told, the outrage over the DSS is surprisingly big. There is even an extremely funny motion online to send it to Automatons to be destroyed.

As you know, the DSS was built on Gaellivare. However, the bots discovered its location mere hours after it became operational, and an extremely demanding defense mission began. So, Helldivers voted for the DSS to be moved to Mastia, where the Planetary Bombardment was launched.

After experiencing the horrors and all the team killings, players now want to move the Democracy Space Station back to Gaellivare. Spartan57975 suggested: “Vote to move the DSS back to Gaellivare so the bots can destroy it. Two months of build-up for a constant treason-barrage”.

Other players had even more creative solutions. Snoo_63003 said: “Crash it into Hellmire”. Another Redditor stated: “Send it to the Gloom, we’re riding it into the sunset”. Still, the most popular suggestion was to send the DSS into the Meridia black hole. Hundreds of players gave their full approval. In case you are thinking of quickly jumping into the game to vote for Meridia, it isn’t on the list of possible locations.

Now, as hilarious as these ideas are, let’s keep in mind that the devs worked on the DSS for months. Sure, it isn’t perfect, but it’s only fair to give them an opportunity to fix what needs to be fixed, before sacrificing the DSS to the bots, Hellmire, or the potential Illuminate lurking from the black hole. We’re sure that constructive feedback will prove to be more fruitful in the long run. For Liberty and Super Earth.
