Earlier this week, Arrowhead revealed their first-ever collab. However, a huge controversy erupted, as the players felt the steep prices were quite unfair. Thus, the devs decided to make it up to the players and gift them the second part of the Helldivers 2 x Killzone collab and extend the existing offer in the Superstore.
Developers Gift the Second Part of the Killzone Collab to Players
On December 19, the developers of Helldivers 2 took to X and shared some exciting news. Since it’s the holiday season, the developers of Helldivers 2 and the developers of Killzone (Guerrilla) decided to gift the players the second part of the collab. The distribution of all of these items started on December 19.
Another huge addition was the extension of the duration of the Helldivers 2 x Killzone Part I items in the Superstore. The main problem was that the players would have to grind for Super Credits in order to be able to afford all the items. However, the availability of these items was extended from 5 days to days in the Superstore, so you can now slowly mine for SC.
Of course, not all players follow social media, so there was also an in-game notification, titled Arsenal Augmentation. According to it, the Ministry of Defense collaborated with a “reputable arms manufacturer”, Stahl Arms (of Killzone). As a result, all Helldivers received access to six new items, free of charge.
Helldivers 2 Players Appreciate Arrowhead for Hearing Them Out About the Collab
Now, we’ve said it before, and we’ll gladly say it again, we truly appreciate that Arrowhead listens to players’ feedback. Everyone makes mistakes, but owning up to them means quite a lot. We’d like to commend Arrowhead for always trying to make things right and putting the players first.
The Helldivers 2 community was also quite happy about receiving the second part of the Killzone collab as a gift. Many players noted how Arrowhead restored their faith, as a lot of players were a bit overwhelmed by the recent emotional rollercoaster.
The devoted players even suggested how Arrowhead could implement future crossovers without making players experience FOMO. For example, many players noted that they wouldn’t mind if this content was put in a more expensive Warbond. As you know, Warbonds last forever, so players wouldn’t have a time limit for purchasing the items.
Other players suggested changing up the Superstore. This could be an elegant solution to this problem. Instead of putting crossover items in the “regular” Superstore, and limiting them to 5 days, there could be a new tab for all the collabs, without a time limit. So, the players could browse through it and pick their favorites at their own pace.
Truth be told, we’d love to see more companies follow Arrowhead’s lead and actually listen to their consumers. After all, the consumers keep the companies alive, so mutual respect and appreciation should be a must. To celebrate this wonderful gift, we’ll be diving in our new fit, will you join us? The current Major Order is nearing its end, so we better get to it. Oh, and watch out for the black hole. For Liberty and Super Earth.
