With the lack of content and the slow progression of the storylines, the players took it upon themselves to create a wonderful experience. This initiative will show that you can still find fun new ways to enjoy a game that is in good condition. So, all Helldivers 2 players will be able to unite for the second community event, Dark Echo.
What Is Operation Dark Echo?
The creators of the first-ever community-led event, Operation Vanguard Horizon, are also behind the Dark Echo event. They call themselves Freedom Alliance. According to their website: “The Freedom Alliance is a collective of players and creators organizing events, media, and storytelling to unite the Helldivers community. Every Helldiver can join the events and play as part of the Alliance”.
After the success of the first event, it’s time for another one. Operation Dark Echo: Ghosts of the Abyss starts on December 6 and ends on December 8. While more details are yet to come, the creators shared the plot of this Operation, as well as a phenomenal trailer.
The creators noted: “Truth Enforcers have uncovered dissident activity by the ‘Disciples of the Deep,’ who worship the Meridia Black Hole and conduct dangerous experiments. The Freedom Alliance is tasked with silencing their broadcasts, destroying their research, and reinforcing the Ministry-approved Super Church of Managed Democracy. Praise Liberty”.
Helldivers 2 Players Can’t Wait to Join This Community Event
As you may have expected, Helldivers 2 players loved the idea of another community event, and many of them shared how excited they were to join Operation Dark Echo. Truth be told, we are among the players who can’t wait for this event. We truly admire all the effort that was put into this well-thought-out event.
Players were simply blown away by the amazing trailer. Zachafinackus noted: “It’s so nice to hear human work going into something like this rather than AI. It’s so sick”. Another player, asaustin565, stated: “Holly f**k this trailer is insane. Your editing skills are insane, the music choice and the way clips slide together like butter. The perfect colour grading and sound mixing”.
We’d be lying if we said we didn’t get goosebumps while watching this trailer. A true masterpiece. So, we’d implore you to support this community event and enjoy this wonderful community. We’ll be there, for sure, join us. For Liberty and Super Earth.
