Ever since failing to unlock the Orbital Napalm Barrage Stratagem in a previous Major Order, many Helldivers 2 players have been waiting for another chance to secure it. The latest Major Order gave players the chance to eradicate 45 million Bile Spewers and 100 million Warriors. Unfortunately, the community was unable to complete the task but did a good enough job to unlock the new Stratagem.
Following the failure of the latest Major Order, Super Earth broke the news to the Helldivers 2 community. This comes just days before the new Chemical Agents Warbond is released, so those Medals could have come in handy to unlock the new weapons, Stratagems, and cosmetics on offer.
“Terminid population levels have been reduced, but by lower than the targeted amount required to fully control the spread of insectile Fascism.
As a result, the Ministry of Science has increased its projections of imminent Terminid outbreaks. Citizens in threatened planets have been alerted to prepare for evacuation. The additional cost required to control the Terminid population will demand sacrifices from all citizens; general work hours have been extended by 14% for all citizens of classification B and below. These austerity measures are yet another demand placed upon Super Earth citizens by the Fascist threat of the Terminid.”
Despite the failure, due to completing one of the tasks, players have still unlocked the new Orbital Napalm Barrage Stratagem that was available to try a few weeks ago. This can now be unlocked at your ship’s computer for 10,000 Requisition Slips. The new Orbital Napalm Barrage Stratagem proved to be incredibly popular when it was initially available to test, so it will be one that you will be seeing many players use from now on, especially when facing the Terminids due to their susceptibility to fire damage.
In addition to the new Stratagem, players have the 01.001.007 update to look forward to on September 17th, with its patch notes said to be 6-8 pages long. Following that is the Chemical Agents Warbond on September 19th, which focuses on weapons that can fire a toxic gas at your enemies. Chemical Agents will also include a Stim Pistol, which could be useful to create a medic build, as well as a new Guard Dog Stratagem, making this the first time that one has appeared in a Warbond.
