Helldivers 2 Players Help With the Evacuation From Planets Near the Gloom for the Latest Major Order

After fighting valiantly for many days, Helldivers unfortunately failed the previous Major Order. As you know, the Gacrux liberation was unsuccessful. Even though the players united and liberated it after the timer went off, there was some drama between them. Well, they’ll have plenty of time to resolve their issues as a new Major Order just dropped in Helldivers 2, and the Gloom will certainly unite the players.

Major Order Briefing Reveals New Attacks Are Coming From the Gloom

As always, the High Command offered a briefing on Discord. They noted: “The Helldivers valiantly achieved two of the three objectives set by High Command, capturing the Automaton Database and limiting the bots’ territorial expansion, but falling short of re-securing the Terminid Research Preserve. Security has been doubled at the Preserve, with teams deployed to sweep for interstellar spore landings”.

They added: “Despite the narrow setback, construction of the DSS continues unabated. It is currently in its third construction phase, and before it can be activated, it must be staffed. Fortunately, cheap labor is emerging from the colonies near the Gloom that is currently experiencing something of an eruption with extremely fierce attacks coming out of it”.

For this week’s Major Order, Helldivers 2 players have to hold 3 planets when the Order expires. The planets in question are Terrek, Cirrus, and Angel’s Venture, and they are all currently liberated. Also, the players have to fend off 8 Terminid attacks from the Gloom. The thing is, as the attacks will be coming from the Gloom, there won’t be a possibility of a Gambit. This MO will last for 6 days.

Helldivers 2 Players Come Up With Strategies Even Though the Gloom Is Unpredictable

Helldivers are always ready for action. The moment this Major Order dropped in Helldivers 2, the players started making strategies and suggesting how to approach the Gloom. After all, it will be tough to coordinate when the attacks are coming from the Gloom.

Damien_Sin suggested: “I propose we defend Esker first and sadly lose Socorro. I know we’ll lose out on a second defense. But, we can use Esker as the choke point for an invasion from Nivel/Socorro/Erson Sands while we hold the line at Erata Prime and Fenrir III when the invasion comes from Hellmire”. Many players agreed with this strategy. Actually, the majority of players voted for the Esker defense.

Of course, some players greatly appreciated new lore details. FunnyjunkAbasador stated: “It’s nice to hear that the DSS will be a family-friendly environment. Now even kids UNDER 11 can aid in the Second Galactic War by taking part in Super Earth approved family-focused fun. Like: “aim the ATLAS canon” and “prime the Orbital Lasers” truly this is going to be great for the Galactic GDP”.

So, let’s get to work! Eight is a lot of planets to defend from those terrible bugs. Make sure to bring your Purifier, we’ll bring the Senator. On second thought, we might be in the mood for some light roleplaying, so we might bring a WW1-inspired loadout. See you out there, soldier! For Liberty and Super Earth.
