Helldivers 2 devs decided to absolutely blow the players’ minds with an announcement of a shiny new Warbond. Freedom’s Flame is set to drop on August 8, just a couple of days after the biggest update so far. Now, we’ve heard rumors about this Warbond, but no one could have prepared the Helldivers 2 community for everything that’s waiting inside, especially the Freedom’s Flame Armor sets.
Freedom’s Flame Will Feature Amazing Armor Sets
On July 30, the official X profile of Helldivers 2 posted a huge announcement of the upcoming Warbond. Among all of the goodies, the Armor sets stood out as something new and exciting.
The announcement for them read: “Armor: I-102 Draconaught (Medium) & I-09 Heatseeker (Light). Both feature the new Armor Passive. Enjoy 75% damage resistance to fire as you run head-first into danger like an unstoppable legend. For Democracy, of course”.
The devs offered more information on the official blog. It stated: “I-09 Heatseeker. Proudly display the burnished blood-red plates that were forged in righteous fire, like the heroes they were wrought to protect — a true vision of democracy”.
As for the Medium Armor, the blog noted: “I-102 Draconaught. Ah, there’s nothing quite like those satisfying screeches as the enemies of freedom burn. Enjoy it all in this 14-cm sheathed silica fiber foam armor with an exclusive tube-to-ear feature”.
We can’t forget about the new Armor Passive which contributes the most. The announcement stated: “Armor Passive. Inflammable! Enjoy 75% damage resistance to fire as you run head-first into danger like the unstoppable legend your mum said you’d be”.
Helldivers 2 Players Praise the Upcoming Warbond
As you might have expected, the reactions to this announcement were overwhelmingly positive. To put it in perspective, more than 9,5 thousand people upvoted the announcement on Reddit. Most players were looking forward to going back to Hellmire with the new Armor.
One player, whelkstrider, explained how significant the 75% damage resistance was. They said: “I mean, if it really was 3s to begin with then it would go up to 12s, because 0% to 75% resistance is a 4x reduction. Very significant and even more so if you or your teammates are using flame weapons”.
Another player, mcb-homis, mused: “I wonder if you can still get set on fire wearing it? There is direct fire damage and then being set on fire (damage over time). If it reduced both by 75% I think that would be OK but if it kept you from being set on fire (damage over time) that would be awesome”.
The entire Helldivers 2 community can’t wait to try out the entire Freedom’s Flame Warbond, especially the Armor sets. The players are impatiently waiting for August 8.
