Helldivers 2 Players Flock to Retake Curia

The sudden progress of Automatons toward Super Earth has baffled many players. Some called for a boycott, as they blamed Joel for fixing it up, others were too busy with the Major Order. Finally, with the MO successfully completed, devoted Helldivers 2 players are rushing to Curia to help out.

Some Helldivers Insist Fighting on Curia Is a Must

As you might remember, several MOs ago, Helldivers managed to split the Automaton forces. What was left of the Automaton front suddenly progressed to Super Earth, leaving them separated by one Sector only. Now, lots of players wished for the invasion of Super Earth, as that would allow them to fight on their home planet.

After days of going back and forth, the Helldivers who were fighting on Curia from the very start managed to convince their skeptical fellow soldiers to join them. Their main selling point was Curia itself, as players don’t get an opportunity to experience the Moon biome often.

Bonkface noted: “Fighting on Curia is something I recommend everyone to try. The pale, barren planet coupled with the deformable terrain and the stark contrast, lack of fog, and long sight lines make for utter action move fights. Run, gun, and snipe”.

In addition, Amir4insane said: “The Moon biome is such an awesome biome. It has an awesome environment, it’s picturesque, and it’s easy to travel around. My only problem with it is that there are only 2 of these planets that I know of. Curia on the bot front and Fenrir 3 on the bug front”.

Did the Devs Buff the Number of Players on Curia?

However, there is still a sizeable group of Helldivers 2 players that don’t want to Curia. These Helldivers were unsatisfied with the “unnaturally fast” progression of the bots. Now, when the number of players on Curia started growing, they are doubtful those are actual players, but rather the devs are inflating the numbers, so the bots won’t invade Super Earth.

According to some, the proof of someone messing with the numbers lies in a “very sudden, linear stream of “players” contributing towards the liberation rate”. Although we understand that Joel burned the players before, there are rational explanations for the sudden growth in numbers.

One player, notmorezombies, explained: “Estanu was defended first, Erata Prime second. The spike in numbers on Curia coincides with the end of the defense campaign on Erata Prime, with roughly 13k players then needing to find somewhere to go. Some of them went to Curia, that’s all that happened”.

We’ll probably never know, but, honestly, we really don’t need to. The important thing is to unite as a community and fight for Super Earth, everything else that happens behind the curtains should stay unknown. The players haven’t received the new Major Order, so we’d suggest you visit Curia in the meantime and help your fellow soldiers spread some democracy.
