Players Debate Who’s to Blame for a Failed Major Order in Helldivers 2

Over the previous weekend, botdivers were given an incredibly hard task. They had to eliminate 500 million Automatons and liberate Vernen Wells. Unfortunately, the Major Order was only partially completed, meaning that the brave Helldivers 2 players failed.

Helldivers Hope That Failed Major Order Might Bring at Least Some Rewards

When the players ran out of time, there were around 100 million bots to kill, but Vernen Wells was liberated. Some players hope that Joel will still grant them a partial reward, as the Brifieng for the MO stated that liberating Vernen Wells was crucial for getting polystyrene. That polystyrene would then be used in the production of Orbital Napalm Barrages. Not killing enough bots would mean they will just lack the canisters for packaging.

One player, onion2594, noted: “It should cost more slips to purchase instead of us just not getting it. What were we? 20% left? Should cost like 20% more. But, it literally doesn’t make a difference to me cuz I’m maxed on slips. I wouldn’t even mind if it cost some Samples”.

The majority of Helldivers 2 players are reminding the community that even though they failed this Major Order, there would be others. Losing a battle doesn’t mean losing the war. Famous_Historian_777 stated: “Helldivers never give up! Get back in the game and slay some rust buckets to honor all our fallen brothers and sisters”.

The Perfect Storm Caused Helldivers 2 Players to Fail

Now, the most dedicated botdivers are trying to figure out why this MO failed. Most of the players agreed that there were actually several factors, all equally to blame. But, the biggest problem of all was the timing of this Major Order.

One Redditor, notAnAce, explained: “This MO could not have come more inconveniently, both at a bad time and in a bad state. A bot kill count goal, already notorious for never being completed, which further coincides with… Low player counts, cause while liberation rates scale with the current player count average, kill count goals are the one thing that absolutely requires high player counts. And, low morale due to general frustrations”.

Some Helldivers blame Arrowhead for the in-game conditions which caused a dip in morale and a lower number of players. Others are mainly angry at bugdivers for not participating in bot Major Orders. Reportedly 30-40% of active players at any given moment during the MO were on the bug front. This caused some friction in the community, but as a reminder, we are all playing to relax and have fun, there is no need to cry over spilled milk (or polystyrene).

So, whether you are a bugdiver or a botdiver, you are first and foremost a Helldiver. We are all in this together, so try to be kind to each other while we wait for some good changes. In the meantime, try to cooperate, and you’ll see the difference that goodwill makes. For Super Earth.
