“Learn Some Manners” Helldivers 2 Community Reminds the Players not to Hijack the Games They Join

Helldivers 2 new Warbond Truth Enforcers preview

Nothing better than coming home after an extremely long day and turning on your favorite game. Some Helldivers like to relax and chat while they dive with their friends, others prefer a more strict and organized approach, and that’s completely fine. However, when you join a mission hosted by someone else, it’s universally accepted that you should follow their lead, or better yet, their pace. Or is it? Recently, numerous Helldivers 2 community members complained about their fellow Helldivers joining the mission late and trying to hijack it. What should one do in that situation?

What Can You Do if Someone Tries to Hijack Your Mission?

One devoted Helldiver shared their unfortunate experience with the community. XxJaketheSnake612xX and one of their friends were fighting the bots on Super Helldive. They were chatting and having fun while enjoying all the chaos of the bot front. Although it was a hard mission, they managed on their own. That is until a couple of players joined them.

The OP noted: “Well, at the last 15 minutes or so, two randoms join at the same time and they’re both wearing Scout armor and start cussing at us in chat for “starting unnecessary fights”. We told them that fighting robots is the point of the game and they started teamkilling us so we just kicked ’em”.

This player added: “I understand trying to stealth missions. But, when you join in and there are gunships flying overhead, a billion lasers going everywhere, and you can see that both of your teammates brought turrets and anti-tank, you’d think that we’re going for a more confrontational approach”.

Don’t get us wrong, we all have different approaches and enjoy different tactics, as we should. However, on rare occasions when we join a mission and just can’t find the middle ground with the host, we leave. We are all playing to relax and unwind (and spread Managed Democracy!), but we’re doing neither if we insist on setting the pace always. Also, we’re ruining other players’ experience as well. The OP pleaded: “Please don’t be like this, it’s not very democratic and it’s definitely not very kind when YOU are joining someone ELSE’S game”.

Helldivers 2 Community Supports Sportsmanship

Unsurprisingly, the majority of Helldivers 2 community members agreed that trying to hijack someone’s mission was completely unjustified. So, they gladly offered some support to the OP, as well as their own experiences.

Airiken shared: “Today I had a guy TK me when I reinforced him because he died on the other side of the map where he was spamming “follow me” until he died. Like, you’re in our game and we have an objective don’t blame me because you wanted to do your own thing”.

Usernameboy777 added: “I agree with the OP. As someone who does only SOS dives it’s the HOST’s mission at the end of the day and how they want to play is how they are gonna play. Don’t like it find another group”.

Of course, we’d add that communication is key, you don’t have to go by feel. When you join a mission, you can always suggest an approach, but keep in mind that we live in a Managed Democracy, and the host might have another strategy in mind. So, you can always leave and host your own game, or stay and cooperate with your fellow Helldivers.

We truly appreciate this community and their willingness to talk openly about solvable problems. So, let’s spread some Managed Democracy together, the current Major Order is quite demanding. For Liberty and Super Earth.
