It’s almost ready! The infamous Review Bomb cape was found in the Helldivers 2 files, according to the latest leaks. As a reminder, this cape has been teased for over a year now. In May 2024, SONY enforced a rule, allowing only players with a PSN account to play. Players rebelled by review-bombing Helldivers 2 into oblivion. SONY was forced to give in, but almost 200 regions were locked out from buying the game. Naturally, the players asked for a cape to celebrate that the review bomb sort of worked, and the devs teased that it was in the works. Later on, Pilestedt, the CCO, revealed that the cape would be released once the region lock was lifted. Well, the region lock was finally lifted on June 13. The cape hasn’t dropped yet, but data miners found it in the game files!

Leaks Offer a First Look at the Review Bomb Cape in Helldivers 2

The devs dropped a great patch on June 24. It fixed the Leviathans, but it seems that the devs also sneaked in the Review Bomb cape alongside the various fixes. Well, it didn’t take long before data miners found it.

One of the most prolific leakers and data miners, IronS1ghts, found the cape and showed it off to the community. It seems that the devs cleverly named it the Pillars of Freedom cape. You can check it out below. It’s quite magnificent, right?

As you may have expected, the players are completely head over heels for this cape! It’s everything they wished for, and more! Obviously, they praised Arrowhead devs for keeping their promise and making it. Only one question remains – when will Helldivers get to try this cape on? It’s possible that the devs slightly delayed it because they have just issued the Protector of the Heart Cape.

Either way, we can’t wait to see Helldivers sporting it on the battlefield. In the meantime, let’s complete the current Major Order! We’ll meet you on the bug front. Oh, and don’t forget, the Save the Children community fundraiser is in progress! For Liberty and Super Earth.
