Ugh, we hate when something like this happens! The Helldivers 2 community has been hard at work over the last couple of days, trying to complete a very demanding Major Order, but it seems that the MO will fail if something doesn’t change soon. How did the MO go from almost won to community-wide arguments?
What’s Going on With the Major Order?
As you probably know, the current Major Order sent the players to reclaim five planets of strategic importance affected by the Illuminate attacks. The planets are Fenrir III, Mastia, Turin, Achernar Secundus, and Claorell.
Everything was running smoothly, and, at the time of writing this article, only Claorell is left to be liberated. Helldivers are working hard to get that done, but… they seem to have missed something. You see, by now, the players have accepted the concept of a gambit, more or less.
However, barely anyone thought about it working the other way around. Just as the enemies can’t attack the planet if they don’t have a direct connection to it, neither can the Helldivers. While the players are trying their best to liberate Claorell, the bots are attacking the only two planets from which the Helldivers can get to Claorell.
Unfortunately, Vog-Sojoth and Imber will fall long before Helldivers liberate Claorell. Vog-Sojoth has another eight hours left, while Imber has an hour more. According to current calculations, Helldivers need around 26 hours to liberate Claorell. They won’t be able to do so. Once access to Claorell is lost, so will be the progress, and Helldivers will have to liberate either Vog-Sojoth or Imber and start over.
The Helldivers 2 Community Is Divided Over the Strategy for the Major Order
While social media is overflowing with players warning the Helldivers 2 community that the Major Order will fail, the situation is different in-game. At the time of writing this article, around 17k players are on Claorell. Around 7k players are fighting the bugs on Terrek. Unfortunately, only around 1k players are on both Vog-Sojoth and Imber.
This has once again shown that some things have to be communicated with the entire player base. One player, khknight, noted: “With how little time we have left, we will not be able to pull off two liberations before the MO ends. Losing these invasions means losing the major order completely. Despite this, over 50% of the player base is seemingly unaware of this fact… The game desperately needs proper tutorials on the galactic war”.
Given that it’s been a while since a patch, and many Helldivers are on a break until an update or a Warbond drops, it’s safe to assume that the ones still playing the game are what one might call “hardcore”, or simply the most dedicated. So, it is kind of concerning that they don’t understand, or simply don’t care about strategy. Many Helldivers noted that this was quite frustrating.
So, dear diver, we suggest you get ready to dive! The weekend ahead will be quite long. We’ll see you on Vog-Sojoth, and then on Claorell, let’s try our best to bring this MO home. For Liberty and Super Earth.
