Let’s be honest, who here hasn’t called an airstrike upon themself, or their teammates? We sure did, several times, in fact. Sometimes, you’re tired or you can’t concentrate, and that’s completely fine, as it happens to literally everyone. Some Helldivers 2 veterans were brave enough to own up to their mistakes and admit which stupid decisions cost them their dignity.

Do All Helldivers Get a Lobotomy Once They Reach Level 100?

When you were just a rookie, did you ever notice just how much the higher-level players screw up? You probably didn’t, as you were fighting for your bare life. However, one Helldiver, The_Hive_King, did.

This player wondered: “I’m fully convinced that once you reach level 100+ you get a free (mandatory) Super Earth Lobotomy”. This player recalled witnessing level 150 divers committing atrocities such as killing Stim Pistol users or throwing Stratagems before boarding the Pelican.

Rather than being insulted by this, veteran players decided to confirm this hypothesis. WOLKsite noted: “Almost level 100. I sometimes accidentally hit melee when I walk up to someone to try to stim them”.

SolomonDurand shared: “See that red light? It means an orbital is about to rain hell on that bug hole in the distance. So I want you guys to stay away from there… Gets hit by my own barrage”. Honestly, this happened to us more times than we’d like to admit.

One player, Shredded_Locomotive, explained why this phenomenon was happening. They stated: “Once you reach the top, the stakes become low, you don’t miss out on Samples, XP, Medals and such. There’s not really any downside to dying to something stupid thus leading to more ridiculous choices”.

Helldivers 2 Players Admit the Biggest Mistakes Happen When They’re Distracted

Veteran Helldivers 2 players usually take it upon themselves to help the rookies, sometimes when they’re doing so, mistakes just happen. The best advice we can give you to avoid making those mistakes – watch where you’re going.

A ludicrous number of players admitted to running into a Contact Mine or falling down the pit. There are also some rare examples of both happening at the same time. And, sometimes, you just don’t hear the enemy.

Bootstrap_Bart recalled: “I have all the Samples. Run away from the horde. Shooting over the shoulder. Checking the map where those noobs are. Fall into a pit”. Another player, 13Vex, said: “Alright I’m a level 103, I need to show these level 20’s how it’s done… Runs into a Contact Mine”.

One level 150 player, Eys-Beowulf, shared a hilarious story of how they had lost all of their Samples at the bottom of a pit. This player noted: “Walks into obvious Spike Plant and fu**ing dies instantly. Respawns. Falls in a fu**ing hole. Respawns. Jokes about falling in a hole again, gets ragdolled by my OWN ERUPTOR SHOT, and falls into THE SAME HOLE. Looks in the hole. The hole has my Samples”.

So, the next time something like this happens to you, remember, you’re not alone. Sure, you might embarrass yourself in front of some rookies, but give it time, they’ll be making the same mistakes soon enough. After all, as long as you’re spreading Managed Democracy, you shouldn’t face any judgment.
