“Incoming!” A Helldivers 2 Data Miner Claims an Update Is About to Drop and Reveals What the Players Should Expect

The view from the ship in Helldivers 2.

The devs have been quite tight-lipped about the next content update. Aside from talking about various fixes, they didn’t drop any hints about what they have been working on. However, some players prefer knowing what’s to come, as they want something to look forward to. Well, a data miner has decided to share their discoveries about the next Helldivers 2 update. If you don’t want to know what’s being worked on, maybe you should skip this article, as possible spoilers lie ahead.

A Data Miner Shares What’s Being Tested for the Next Update

On April 18, IronS1ghts, one of the most prolific Helldivers 2 leakers and data miners, shared that the devs had been testing new content. The data miner noted: “(Leak) Large wave of development testing going on right now. Likely gearing up for a large update soon. – Pilen V”.

Days later, on April 20, IronS1ghts elaborated on this topic. They listed everything that they had seen the devs testing. IronS1ghts stated: “(Leak) A few things that are being tested. Illuminate Invasion of Super Earth. Illuminate Invasion of the Altus Sector. New Campaign types. Planet “Regions”. Multi-Subfaction missions. Upcoming Warbond. New Planet?”.

Things that will be in the next Helldivers 2 update.

The data miner clarified: “The new planet may just be for testing. Or a placeholder for some future planet type. The multi-subfaction missions are likely just for performance stress testing, but you never know”.

Now, as you know, the players have been asking to fight multiple factions on the same planet for a long while. However, the problem was that when the devs put different factions on the same planet, they wouldn’t interact. Maybe they have finally solved this issue? We’ll have to wait to find out.

Helldivers Have Various Theories

Well, as you may have expected, the data miner caused quite a stir in the Helldivers 2 community with these details about the update. It’s been months since the last big update. Hell, it’s been almost three full weeks since the latest patch. Helldivers are starving for some new content, or even bug fixes. Obviously, the community gladly shared their ideas for how the current storylines would unfold.

One player noted: “Sounds like the Meridian really is a wormhole for the Illuminate. Either we stop it in the Altus sector, and they invade, or it makes it to Super Earth, and they invade”.

ScriptedEvan added: “How I was thinking of it was when they sent the success message of the Meridian Singularity research going on for pushing Meridia back, it said it was taking place on Pilen V. If you take a look at where Pilen V is located, it’s in the Altus Sector. So Pilen V might have visitors”.

Truth be told, we can’t know what’s to happen. However, we must admit that we love that this invasion might happen on Pilen V, named after the beloved Pilestedt, the CCO at Arrowhead, and Helldivers’ favorite dev.

So, it seems that the wait for the update is almost over. We know it’s hard, but it will be worth it. In the meantime, if you find the game too easy, why not try the stealth challenge? We’ll join you! For Liberty and Super Earth.
